Areca Catering Hall in Plainview

I am planning on booking my reception at the catering hall called Areca in Plainview.

Has anyone been to a wedding there or better yet had their wedding there?

I am curious about the cocktail hour... did it seem like a large selection of food... the menu seems a little limited to me.

Thanks!!

Re: Areca Catering Hall in Plainview

I went to a wedding there last May. The food was great and although not overly abundant still plenty of food. The menu I'm having at the Hamlet in Mt Sinai is similiar.

Re: Areca Catering Hall in Plainview

I had my wedding at Areca in June 04. Everything was wonderful! People raved about the food - CH and reception. Everyone kept asking how we found the place. There was plenty of food in the CH, more than most other places we looked at. Although I don't know if they changed the package - Andre and Michael had just taken over Areca about 1-2 months before my wedding, so they honored my contract. They did tell me they were thinking about adding additional packages or changing the packages. FM me if you have any specific questions.

I loved Areca - beautiful ballroom and grounds, and what a cocktail room!! You're having it in the restaurant right? Anyway the space just became too tight for the # of people we wanted, but I think it's very unique. Eat the food at the restaurant before deciding though...they didn't have a formal tasting when I was looking, so maybe the restaurant food will help you decide(wedding catering comes from the same kitchen).

Re: Areca Catering Hall in Plainview

We had our engagement party in the restaurant there, and the food was amazing. It's a beautiful place. I had picked it out on my own, and when FH saw it, he liked it so much that he asked if we could have the wedding there, too!
