ARGH! Money, money and more money!

okay girls so we are getting married at RH and FH is stressing that he thinks (since we arent seeing each other before the ceremony) that we wont have enough time for pics... so he wants to extend CH for an extra half hour making it 1 1/2 hour... well i was cool with that but we are at budget and I already told him Im not paying extra. So he talks to the BM and is told that if we add the extra time to the reception is $2 extra pp or $300 total.. or save the money, extend CH and leave at the same time (which means less breaks between food and prob less dancing)... I dont want guests to feel like they are having food shoved down their throats all night and not dancing! Plus we are having the VH too.. so should I s uck it up and pay or just take pics during some point at the reception?

i swear you think they would give you a break during this economy!

sorry this is so long

$300 isn't too bad the the extra half hour.
We are doing an extra half hour too. But I don't remember how much extra it was... I almost want to say $750! I also am having a VH.

Hmm, maybe do the extra 1/2 hour because I know for me, the pics are like the most important thing and you don't want the photog feeling rushed and (godforbid) forget an important pic!

Side note: What is in the Vienese hour? (that's what VH is, right? haha)

Dare you miss a bit of the CH? I mean, originally, the CH is for the pictures to be taken and then you really make the grand entrance at the Reception.

If money is really tight (I can feel your pain, we're def on budget now) - maybe miss a bit of hte CH, and make more of a grandER entrance at the reception so you have time to take pics without removing any time from the reception?

For $300 I would extend the CH....it will give you guys more time for pics and be able to enjoy the reception and not miss portions of it.

I think 300 isn't that bad for a half an hour...jmo It 's worth it if you two wont feel rushed, you should be enjoying your day! and if you finish early with pics you can enjoy ch!

my friend is getting married at rh and she and her fh are seeing each other before the ceremony. they will have an arranged special moment in front of photog and will take pics prior to ceremony.

just an idea, i'm not into it, i want the first time fh to see me is on the aisle!

300 isnt bad. When we first did our deal at VYC they threw in the extra long CH (1.5 hr total ) for free. But if it's already that low I wouldn't push it - at other places I saw it was at least 500 but more upwards of 700-800.

Would you not consider at all seeing each other before hand?? Alot of people do that when their getting married at there RH. Just an option if you don't want to spend more money.

Why do you need to go to your CH? CH is really for the guest while you are taking pictures. If money is an issue just skip the ch and take your pics.

I don't think 300 is too bad. If you really want it, I say do it...
