Argh, vent about family!!

Argh, vent about family!!

Ok, this sounds petty but I just need to vent here.
I am having all my nieces in my bridal party which means 3 flowergirls and 1 Jr. BM. My 3 flowergirls got this really cute dress that cost about $115 and the mother of the Jr. thought that was too much so she was going to keep looking. I kind of thought she would ask my opinion since she would be the only one in a totally separate dress and & it should kind of match. Well, she found this dress for $50 online and just ordered it without asking my input (& I really don't like it!)Anyway, was willing to let it go to avoid an uncomfortable talk but I made some suggestions that I could take the Jr shopping and keep looking as I really don’t think she likes the dress either. I was always told, she is only going to wear this dress once, so basically I guess we can all deal.
Time goes by and the FG dress goes on sale and is now only $65, so now I go into action asking her to exchange the dresses as I think Jr would be much happier and the overall look would be much better. Once again, I am told that the other dress is fine. Now my mom emails her mom and offers to order the other dress as she too thinks it will look better. Get this, and this is why I am really mad. Mom gets an email back from my NIECE explaining that she is happy and the other dress is too much money so we should just let it be??!! Um, why is my niece writing back to the email addressed to her mother? Is this email even from her? It’s just weird, and now I’m really angry that one, they (possibly) involved my niece in this and two, $15 is too much money to make the bride happy?? Take it out of my card then!
Oh and they are not hurting for money, they just don’t put a high value on material things which I can understand but c’mon! They really are the sweetest family & I love them, I was so not expecting this…Worst thing is I just think she will look so out of place and she’ll then feel uncomfortable.
I know I can’t do anything without starting a big fight but I want to cry! I don’t even want to start on the shoes!!
Am I being a bride-zilla?
Sorry so long…

I know it stinks, but you're so close now. IMO, I'd let it go.

Yeah, I do plan on letting it go cause it's really not worth the fight but I'm just bummed!
Oh but on another topic, all my BM dresses finally came in and they are awesome! :)

OMG that is so freakin annoying!!! I don't think you're being bridezilla at all. I think you've been very patient through all of this. I can't believe she bought the first dress without even running it by you! If I were you, I would just buy the dress for her and tell her that is what you want her to wear and explain the whole picture thing, with the look you want, etc. Helloooo...can you imagine if a BM was like 'no I don't like that dress so I'm going to find something else, totally different.' No. That would not be acceptable so I don't think this is acceptable either, especially b/c the price difference is a mere $15. Like you said, take it out of the card if it's that big of an issue. Good luck!

you are not being a bridezilla... I have a similar situation going on with my FH's brother. And the fact that his daughter's aren't my flower girls.

And to top it all off they honestly want to put there girls in white dresses.. My FG isn't wearing a white dress. I sent them a copy of a similar dress in the same color and was told that is to confusing they should be allowed to wear white..

To top it off my FBIL's wife isn't coming to my shower, because she isn't in the wedding party.. SHe is 41 yrs old.. i think it is time people grow up.

As far as your neice writing the e-mail.. I am sure her mom was standing over her shoulder telling her what to type.. I don't think any little girl would say that...

If I was you I would say this is the dress and that is final...

I don't think you're being a bridezilla at all!! If it were me and I had enough time I'd probably go with them to exchange the dress and pay the $15 difference myself.

Both of these dresses are from online or I definitely would have done that. We already offered to pay so she's made it pretty clear. Now my mom is even annoyed at the situation and she hates sticky situations worse then me!
She's saying she might just order the dress anyway and just hand it over...I don't want a fight but I am pretty hurt that this is all over $15!! Seriously, this is too much!!
Why do people have to get all wacky on you as you plan your wedding?! :)

NO, you are not being a bridezilla. You are the bride, and everyone in your wedding party should look how you want them to. You were already nice enough to tell her she didn't have to get the same dress because it was more expensive, but they really should respect your wishes and get the dress you want. Why don't you just offer to pay the extra $15. This way, what can they say right? Don't worry.... sorry you have to deal with this.

Oh no, we have already offered to pay for the dress entirely! That's part of why I just don't get it!
