I can't comment on any of them except for La Cabana - FH and I have stayed there twice now, 2 years in a row (06' & 07').

Our first year there was much better than our 2nd. Apparently there had been some management changes and the staff were nowhere near as friendly and helpful as they were in 06'. If you're going to take advanatge of the fact that you have a kitchen, I would buy things for breakfast and lunch and only go out for dinners. The Captain's Table is the main restaurant on the premises and they have good breakfast but its expensive. Our first year we also had a phenomenal room w/ a great view. Our 2nd time we had no view at all and they wouldn't change our room. FH and I decided that if we were ever gonna go back to Aruba, we would not stay there again. I hope that helps!

I've heard fabulous things about the Renaissance, the website is below its a Marriot hotel. We plan on staying there as well!!! We like the option of having a casino there!

As an ex airtline employee and former travel agent, I can give you lots of info, especially on Aruba. It is one of my favorites. Okay here you go...

The Renaissance is a Marriot proerty and is amazing! It is close to the airport and right in the center of town. Plenty of shopping and restaurants right in the area. The only thing to know, if this property is NOT on a beach, HOWEVER big plus... if you enjoying boating... you get your own PRIVATE ISLAND! The boat leaves right from the LOBBY every 30 minutes! It's adorable. You feel like Tom Sawyer and the island is the most amazing thing I ever seen. There are 2 sides, Flamingo beach with real Flamingos and Iguana Beach, of course with real iguanas!

The Mariott Stellaris/Ocean is GREAT! Further away, located in the HIGH RISE area of Aruba. It is important to know there are 3 seperate areas, so you need to know where you want to be. This is a good spot, located right next to the Hyatt, which if you can afford, STAY THERE! It's gorgeous! But save yourself money and RENT A CAR! It's inexpensive and fun.

I would stay away from the LOW RISE section, hence La Cabana and friends. They are more family and budget oriented.

My last note, is Riu just opened a BRAND NEW property in Aruba that is top notch. It is all incuslive so a bit higher priced, but you will not be disappointed if you go with the Riu! They are grand!

Hope this helps!

Re: aruba

we stayed at the reinassance in Aruba and loved it. Its right on town so you can just walk there and stroll around. We stayed in the ocean suites which we great.

Friends of ours stayed at PlayaLinda a few years back and loved it.

Either one will be great.
