Aruba High rise v. Low rise hotels..
Hi My Fiance and I have decided we defintely are going to Aruba got some great prices for 10 days..we would be going in the end of November.
I have heard great reviews on Bucuti which is in the low rise section and also heard good things about the Hyatt.. If anyone has stayed in these two, please help us decide!! Thanks.

have you looked at trip advisor? i don't think i've ever seen as many positive reviews for any hotel as i have for bucuti. i've never been but i heard the tara suites are the nicest.also check out www.aruba.com.

Thanks.. yes I did check out Trip advisor and saw the great reviews on Bucuti. I'm just unsure now b/c a good friend of ours goes every year and he said that The Bucuti is near the downtown area which is a bad area.. so I'm leary now about staying there... but yet I just don't see it would get such good reviews then.. perhaps our friend misunderstood the resort we mentioned...?

Downtown being a bad area? It's not a bad area at all, the strip is where all the hotels are (Hyatt, Radision, Marriott) it's not bad at all, I felt the island was very safe compared to other islands i've been to.We stayed at a low rise hotel when we went and loved it. The beach at our hotel was also private, it wasnt on the strip there wasnt people from other hotels on the beach w/ us

Re: Aruba High rise v. Low rise hotels..
From my research, I think the bucuti and that area has more privacy, is less crowded, and is further away from a lot of the restaurants. The high rise hotels have beaches that are more crowded, more activities, and are in walking distance to many restaurants.
the bucuti is near *some* restaurants and also a shopping mall/casino.
We wanted a quiet, relaxing, more private vacation, so we're staying at the bucuti (which btw, is also no kids!)..we figured we can walk/take the bus, etc. the few times we want some excitement.
If you want to be in the center of activity, I think the high-rises are for you.

In my opinion the Hyatt is the nicest hotel on the island. It's very beautiful and in the center of a lot of great hotels with great restaurants. The sand is very nice there also. If you walk up or down the beach the sand changes it's not as smooth. (don't know how the sand is at the other hotel). Whichever you choose I'm sure you'll love it, Aruba is beautiful.Welcome New Vendors
