Aruba Honeymoon

I can't believe you all finally got this board so i figured i would write my review again of my honeymoon to Aruba last year and give you all some tips who are going.

We stayed 10 days at the Marriott Stellars Resort. I liked this hotel the best. It was all the way at the end of th strip but it was the only one who had large balconys and you could use the grounds of the two timeshare resorts next to it. The pool was unbelievable too as was the beach and restaurants. To make it extra special me and DH got the wrap around balcony which was GREAT!

My other rating of hotels are:

Radisson - very nice, small balconys, hard to see the ocean from lower floor rooms.

Hyatt - Gorgeous but expensive. No balconys.

Allegro Resort (All Inclusive) Very lively, people like to have fun here, casino was the best because you could make cheap bets.

Wyndham - nice but kind of all fashioned. Didn't see too much of it.

Aruba Grand - Very nice hotel but i got the feeling it was for older people. No really young people there

Radisson - in the heart of downtown so you would have to travel from their to go to restaurants on the strip. Very nice though.

The best part of Aruba is the food and we loved all the places there....

We went to:

El Gaucho - Unbelievable Steak. Make reservations, it was packed and we had to wait a bit, but well worth it.

Sunset Grill (Radisson) - Best meal I had on the island. Sat on the terrace it was wonderful.

Tuscany (Marriot) - Italian - great food, no windows in restaurant but good ambiance.

Flying Fishbone - Right on the beach. We didn't eat there but i heard its amazing.

Holiday Inn - Kind of old.

Things to do:

We did a jeep tour (not our own) and did not totally like it. We had a woman lead us around while another tourist with us had to drive stick shift on crazy roads and it was in the hot sun. I would recommend either taking the ATV tour (that looked like fun but dirty), bus tour (AC) or rent your own jeep and tour the island.

KuKu Koonuko Bus - This was a lot of fun and we met a couple and went to dinner with them another night. You get picked up at your hotel and go to the lighthouse for a champagne toast then to dinner (not very good) and then go to three bars and drink. It was a lot of fun. And you get dropped off back at your hotel. The hosts are hysterically funny.

Other things

There are a lot of these little nats on the island that bite you so bring some type of itiching cream. They are like mosquitos and i got attacked one night (But i also went right after a hurricane flooded them a bit).

Remember your passport.

Have Fun!
