Re: Aruba Honeymoon
Bucuti Beach is supposed to be amazing...we have family that went there on their honeymoon and loved it! The Riu is supposed to be nice also and has an all inclusive option..our only issue with this was that it will probably have lots of kids...let me know if you find anything because wed love to go to aruba!

We were thinking of Bicuti Beach too, but its in the lowrise section, and one of the 08 girls said she spent over 500 on cabs!! I'm worried!

Re: Aruba Honeymoon
So you are looking for a big resort style? or small private place?
FH and i went and stayed in Aruba Blue Village in Noord away from the big hotels. It was off the beaten path... We liked it alot, but sometimes wished we were closer to the action. We rented a jeep and toured the entire island, caverns, natural bridge, lighthouse, city, beaches, cool villages...
Our best lunch--now mind you we went to alot of luxurious places--was a tiny shack on the road (East End) we had some kind of wraps/burrito kind of thing. They were amazing!
Aruba is a small island so I'm sure you will check out all of the tourist attractions
Iguana Joes was a cool resturant in Orajestad Madame Jeanette's was GREAT in Noord
We loved the natural pool, quite a trip there in the back of an old pick up truck!
Baby Beach
Eagle Beach was Our FAV!!!
Chapel of Alto Vista was really nice!
--oh and we saved $$$ by renting our own snorkles, goggles, and flippers for $10 pp and just followed a tour and jumped in wherever they let the tourists off. Not the most colorful fish in the world! but still cool Aruba is not a 'Tropical Paradise' it is more desert and divi divi trees. Still a very cool atmosphere and cool people.
HAVE FUN YOU'LL LOVE IT!
BonVoyage!

Re: Aruba Honeymoon
There was a review recently about the Occidental from an 08er who absolutely loved it. So check it out & see. The Hyatt isnt as great as it used to be. And i would much rather stay in the area that is closer to everything. Good Luck

Re: Aruba Honeymoon
My fiance and I have been researching Aruba hotels tonight as well. We spoke to several close friends and family members who have been to Aruba a few times, and they all agree that the Hyatt would be the nicest hotel, if you are looking for not all inclusive...
One of the reasons that people told us this hotel was great was due to the location in the middle, and not so windy.

Re: Aruba Honeymoon
Hey girls,
I just got back last Sunday from my HM is Aruba. We stayed at the RIU and it was AMAZING!!
The service was impeccable, the food was great, the place and views are gorgeous! There were very few kids at the hotel. In fact we met about 10 other HM couples and spent a lot of time with about 6 of the couples...doing excursions together, dinners, etc.
We did a jeep tour which was amazing, jet skiing, banana boat (like tubing but on a banana shaped blow up float you ride).
We also did the Kookoo Konukoo bus ( a bar crawl on a bus) which was AWESOME and Tatoo (which is a booze cruise) that was also fun. We went to hooters and the Sopranos Piano/Cigar bar. We went into town- Orangestad, which is cool. And we ate at the Flying Fishbone, which is a restaurant where your table is on the sand with the water lapping at your feet. (ask for bug spray!!)
I can't even begin to tell you how wonderful the trip was...we're already planning our next trip back.
HTH!! FM me with any questions!

Re: Aruba Honeymoon
we stayed at the Westin..then called the Wyndam and it was great and all-inclusive.
It is a high rise, great casino and bar for nightlife. Restaurants were excellent. They also give you one dine around that you can use at many other restaurants on the Island. We only left the hotel once, we rented a car drove around for the day but not much to see and do.
We loved it there the pool was great, beach gorgeous and casino was hopping.
They have a great dinner on the beach but it is very small maybe 10 couples max and I would book that when you book your HM. We thought we could do it when we got there but it was too late. I would highly recommend it, it looked beautiful.

Re: Aruba Honeymoon
Aruba is awesome!! My mom has a timeshare there, I've been there about 3 times. The Hyatt is definitely the most beautiful hotel, I think. Definitely honeymoon romantic. My mom's timeshare is at La Cabana and its a great resort with great service! It has a mix of honeymooners, families, etc. I believe they do all inclusive too. My ex's sister & her husband stayed there all inclusive on their honeymoon and loved it. They are doing construction this year so it should be all finished by the time you get married. Definitely look it up I highly recommend it. Let me know if you need more Aruba recommendations, I've been all over the island. Good luck!
