Aruba Honeymoon...Are We Crazy?

Aruba Honeymoon...Are We Crazy?

My FH and I booked 10 days in Aruba at The Radisson Hotel.

We've heard nothing but great things about it but we are paying $6200 (Granted, that's with First-Class Air Fare) and I think we might be getting ripped off. Once we get there it is NOT all inclusive and I hear it's Manhattan prices.

It would cost us $50 to cancel now...

Anyone know a good travel agent?

What is everyone else paying for their Honeymoon?

Is anything ALL INCLUSIVE in Aruba?

PLEASE HELP!!!

Honestly, that seems awfully high... I'm not sure how much first class air is, but I was quoted almost HALF of what you were for 7 days at the Radisson with regular air fare... I can't imagine that 3 more days and different flight could make it that much more expensive... but I could be wrong...

I was told that if you're going to Aruba, you don't want to do all inclusive... however, the Wyndham which looks beautiful, offers an all-inclusive plan.

Good luck!

I'm going to Aruba too! We're staying at the Hyatt!

Totally not.. IMO I did an all inclusive staying in a soso hotel and payed about $4500 There are so many really good resturants in Aruba that you do nothave to worry.. and they range from Cheap to Moderatly priced... DH and I wish that we did not do an all inclusive because we were locked into eating our meals at the hotel...There are many alternatives... and you can always eat Poptarts and granola bars for Breakfast

You are also flying first class which is added up to more money... You will have a great time
FM me if you have any questions...

We booked 12 nights for soooo much less!!!!!!

Call Ellen of IN AND OUT TRAVEL (vendor on here)
I'd rather lose $50 than a few thousand!

Re: Aruba Honeymoon...Are We Crazy?

THAT IS NOT BAD BECAUSE WITH ARUBA IT ALL DEPENDS ON THE ROOM YOU ARE STAYING IN...HOW MANY DAYS AND LIKE YOU SAID COACH OR FIRST CLASS....WE BOOKED ARUBA FOR 8 DAYS AND EVERY EXTRA DAY AFTER WAS MORE MONEY....I THINK THAT IS OK, ESPECIALLY FOR FIRST CLASS....ARE YOU DOING AN ALL-INCLUSIVE? BECAUSE THAT MATTERS TOO!

That seems high, but it might just be the airfare. FH and I booked an all inclusive package at the Wyndam. I think it is the only high rise that offers all inclusive. We are getting a superior room for eight nights, all inclusive plus air for $3679 which includes tax and gratuity.

I booked through the Wyndam hotel website. I emailed them asking for a quote and they were fast and very helpful.

That does seem high.
Although I haven't booked yet, all my quotes were under $5K, not for first class though.

I agree, I'd rather loose $50 then a few $$$$$ thousand. I'm looking into the Wyndham- all inclusive as well. You don't have to eat every dinner there, but at least you know all your other meals and drinks are paid for. Just my 2cents

Good luck!

Re: Aruba Honeymoon...Are We Crazy?

Do you know how much $$$ the airfare alone is??? You might be suprised at just how high it is. How long is the flight to Aruba??

I agree with MV. (Hi Michelle). An all inclusive doesn't mean you have to eat all meals on site but it eliminates having to decided where to eat for each meal. I went to Aruba a few years ago to an all inclusive and it was fantastic. The food was great and the room was right on the beach.

Re: Aruba Honeymoon...Are We Crazy?

It is def. high for average Aruba prices, but it sounds like it's b/c of your First class tkt. First class is always really, really pricey. Also, what type of room are you staying in???

Just want to add that the flight to Aruba is pretty short and although it would have been nice if DH and sat in 1st class, it wasn't necessary (say compared to a long flight to Hawaii or Tahiti). Are you flying non-stop?

Re: Aruba Honeymoon...Are We Crazy?

we went to aruba for 10 days and stayed at Alegro(all inclusive) and we LOVED it! It was about $5200 and we did not always eat at the hotel. We ate 3 meals outside the hotel. We felt all inclusive was totally worth it b/c during the day we hung at the pool or beach and drank and ate whenver and whatever we wanted w/o worry. We felt it was our honeymoon so we did whatever we whatever we wanted. I highly reccomend Alegro and yes I think what you're paying is very expensive!

Re: Aruba Honeymoon...Are We Crazy?

Honey, sorry to say...but you are getting riped off My sister is going to Aruba for her honeymoon in October. I booked the whole trip for them and got a price of $4000 total, at a resort that is ALL Inclusive...meals, activities, drinks, ect. They have an ocean front view with balcony from their room. Also this included their airfare on American Airlines with a direct flight from JFK to Aruba. I did all of this booking on Expedia.com If I were you, pay the $50 and start over...but first look into the cost to re-book. My sister will be there for 10 nights 11 days. The resort is named Divi-Divi

Re: Aruba Honeymoon...Are We Crazy?

I did all inclusive in aruba for 8 nights (divi divi) and we LOVED it! I was against it at first, but DH wanted it. I am so glad we did it. So convenient, awesome breakfast buffet every day, so so lunch ( he loved it) but the bar had these great fresh brick oven pizzas and grilled sandwiches, there were two restaurants that were okay, plus a dinner buffet. the drinks were strong and plentiful, and it was so cool to eat and drink all day without calculating in your head how much money you were spending. I believe we paid about 4800$. we flew first class but used our miles to do it. We ate out 4 times, prices ranging from 70 - 110$ with wine and dessert. I think there is more to think about than just dinners when you consider an all inclusive!
