Aruba Honeymoons?

Aruba Honeymoons?

I am most likely going to stay at The Mariott Surf or Ocean Club through my family's timeshare. We really wanted all inclusive but there isn't many and the only one included in the timeshare is the RUI - Royal Palms but check in is on Fridays (wedding on Friday). Trying to decide if we should stay at Marriott for a week and then stay at the all inclusive - either RUI or Occidental. Any one been or going to etiher? Thanks!

I too am using a timehsare... I didnt put the marriotts on my list b/c i heard that although they are really nice properties, they tend to be overcrowded... I didnt want to go somewhere where I would have to fight for a lounge chair IMO Just something to consider (read some reviews on tripadvisor)

I had the RIU on my list but was accepted into casa del mar first (it appears to be more of a fam resort than a HM... I was a little upset at first, but i got over it, either way, its aruba! hehe)

Sry I have never been to either AI's (never even been to aruba), bur friends of ours went on their HM to RIU and absolutely LOVED IT... and their pics looked gorgeous!

Oh and also, for us at least, I had considered doin 1 week TS there and then like another week there at the bucuti, but I felt like I would have been bored in Aruba if staying 2 weeks... I need a little more variety...

There is also the Westen that is Beautiful. I am going for my HM also and I am deciding between the Westin and RIU.

we're staying at the Hyatt. I've heard that the Occidental is really nice too, we stayed at the Occidental in Punta Cana and loved it, I'm sure the Aruba one is even nicer.

we are also staying at the marriot - my only concern was crowded beach/pool - when my FILS went in Sept they said there were no crowds at all and it was emtpy - im hoping its the same Dec 7- Dec 14 - i'm assuming it will be pretty quiet since its not summer/spring break or when kids have off from school......

we heard aruba is best to do without all inclusive b/c there are so many great restaurants - we heard it doesnt pay - its better to go out to eat....but i have never been there, im just taking other peoples word for it

And then you have the argument for AI in aruba bc everything is so expensive... lol Ive heard an average dinner can run about $120 for 2

I been at Riu, but in Punta Cana, DR and we are actually looking into staying at the Riu in Aruba. I really liked the service from Punta Cana, so hopefully it will be the same.

I stayed at the Westin and highly recommend it. The casino and nightlife was great. The food (AI plan) was great and the beach was beautiful.

If you book it for your honeymoon, ask about the dinner on the beach as soon as you book. It is only available for about 8 couples per night so book it when you make your reservations.

We stayed at the Occidental Grand Aruba a year ago and loved it. Great food for an all inclusive and newly renovated. We also liked that you could walk out of the hotel onto the beach and down the strip of other hotels there for a change of scenery. I'd def recommend it.

Thanks everyone for your input too Appreciate it! I think we are going to go for the Marriot Surf/Ocean Club (Timeshare) for a week and then probbaly the RUI all inclusive for a few. We stayed at the RUI in Jamaica (got engaged there!) and loved the food, service, and action. Hopefully it will be the same in Aruba!!!

Do we need to make reservations ahead of time. Can I do it myself?
