Aruba question

DH and I are going on a cruise with some family in a few days!!!!! My mother is insisting that we need those 'aqua socks' because the sand is so very hot that you can't walk on it in sandals. I would prefer not to get them.

For those who have been there, do I really need aqua socks or will I be fine in my Nike sandals or flip flops?

The sand does get hot... flip flops are usually hard to walk in on sand but if you are comfortable doing that, don't get the aqua socks.

Thanks!!! I can do the flip flops here in the sand but I think down there (Aruba, Curacao, St. Martin, St. Thomas) I will use the Nike 'sport' sandals.
