Re: Aruba-where to stay
Riu Palace Aruba is brand new - grand opening is in July and its all inclusive. Haven't been there but the RIU is a great chain and I'm sure it will be amazing! Great pricing probably available now since it just opened!

Re: Aruba-where to stay
We are going there next week for our 1 year anniversary...we are staying at the Westin...heard very good things about the Hyatt & Raddisson...
Aruba has so many great resturants that you shouldn't do an all-inclusive...just IMO

We stayed at the Renaissance as well and LOVED it and the private island. I also liked being close to town....great nite life.
Aruba was our favorite vacation!

Re: Aruba-where to stay
just got back from aruba.. just a little warning the high rise section theres consturction EVERYWHERE.. the riu prolly won't open by july .. i dont think its supposed to be fully operational till late oct? was what i was hearing.. its still just cement type buildings.. i have pics if anyone wants to see
id try looking at the low rise... we stayed at the bucuti... www.bucuti.com best time, didnt have to wake up early to get a palpa (beach hut thing)... it was very relaxing and couldnt have asked for a better location.. its a 5-8 dollar cab ride to 'hi rise' section

Re: Aruba-where to stay
i second the bucuti.. soo quite and such a nice beach.. the regular, superior room was fine.. we were hardly in the room... the beach is beautiful and the happy hour drinks are great!! haha.... and they include a breakfast (cold food - yogurt, cereal, bagels, fruit) in the price!! thats a plus..
i have pics in my community album..
in my opinion i would NOT do any all inclusive, unless youre a drinker... the food there is AMAZING... the prices are comparable to NYC/LI restaurants..
if you have any quest.. please let me know..

Re: Aruba-where to stay
i think it depends on how much you want to spend and how much to drink and eat.. all inclusives are great, but aruba has great restaurants!!!
i wouldnt get all inclusive, but thats just me.. i liek going to different places each night and getting out from the hotel..

Re: Aruba-where to stay
Just got back from Aruba last night and the best place on the island is by far the Hyatt Regency!!!! We loved it there so much!!!!!!
IMO you shouldn't do all-inclusive in Aruba, way too many great restaurants...but keep in mind they are not cheap so if you are on a budget then an all-inclusive might work for you better....
ETD: The beach is way better at the low-rise section (eagle beach) which has some nice resorts as well....so maybe you can look there as well....

Don't waste your money on the AI package. There are so many wonderful restaurants to eat at.
Radisson and Hyatt are beautiful. I stayed at the Occidental on Palm Beach two years ago and did not like very much. A Mariott was being built as I was there.
