I am tossing between Bucuti and Divi. Which one would you/did you go to? If you prefer one over the other, can you please tell me why?
Thanks!!!!

Re: Aruba: Which Hotel?
Both are in the low rise section, right? I didn't stay at either, but I stayed at the Tamarijn, the sister hotel to the Divi. Is the Bucuti AI, because that might be the deal breaker/maker. I have heard Aruba has great food...but since we stayed at the Tam, and really only ate there, I don't want to say anything to the contrary. The few restaurants we did check out seemed expensive to take that chance. I'm a SUPER SUPER picky eater--like, if I don't like 1 aspect of a dish I won't eat any of it. Therefore having the buffet options of the AI were perfect for me--I could put on my plate what I wanted and ONLY what I wanted. The rooms at the Tam and Divi are fine, nothing wrong with them, but they aren't super luxurious or really anything special. There's also nothing wrong with them either. The grounds of the Divi were DEFINITELY nicer than where we stayed, but the majority of the activities (which we took full advantage of) were from the Tam. Also, 95% of the rooms at our hotel were waterfront (like, no more than 30 feet from the water) whereas most other hotels have different 'views' of the water. The Tam and Divi are right next to each other on the beach and I know DH and I walked by Bucuti when we were there. I think your biggest decision would be whether or not you guys want All Inclusive or not and then decide if you want a really awesome room (bucuti) vs. nice amentities (Divi) HTHs!

Re: Aruba: Which Hotel?
Hey I just came from Aruba and stayed at Divi Dutch village, another sister resort to Divi Village. I didn't do the all inclusive and I'm glad we didn't. It is very expensive the food anywhere you go, the cheapest meal we ate was wendys for two 10dollars. If you don't mind not exploring the rest of the island and checking out the restaurants then I'd say do the inclusive or they give you the option to do it for a minimum of 3 days. Maybe do it for part of your trip. Definately if you love seafood try to go to the Flying Fish Bone restaurant the food is excellent and its right on the beach make your reservation for when the sun is setting....its beautiful. Also check out the Driftwood....the owner catches the fish everyday and that is what is served on the menu. I don't recall seeing the other hotel you mentioned....but Divi Dutch (time share, which is what I had) and the tamarijn are on beach side. the divi village is across the street from the beach. There are plenty of activities right at the resort too, you'll love Aruba....perfect weather all 12 days we were there.

Re: Aruba: Which Hotel?
I stayed at the Divi two years ago and we can't wait to go back! It was so inexpensive. We had an oceanview room, all inclusive, it was great. I have not one complient about the hotel. The food was good, the room was clean, the service was great and the beaches are breathtaking! I loved how the beach was private compared to the strip of hotels that all shared the beach. Plus it was a 5 min car ride to both towns.

Re: Aruba: Which Hotel?
i just go back from bucuti.. i will post pics when i get them.. but i think it was the best beach!! we went for walks each day left and right of the hotel... other hotels dont have the beach bucuti does..
the food - they have the best rest. EVER.. we stuffed ourselves.. so bucuti gives cont. breakfast (no hot foods) but bagels, dougnuts, toast, yogurt and garnola, cereals, fruit, cheese and meats, fruit salad... and coffee, tea, and juices..
they are next to each other.. and are nice - i didnt see the inside of divi, but i was researching it too..
good luck..

Re: Aruba: Which Hotel?
We are staying at the Divi Phoenix Beach Resort. I've heard nothing but great things. The only thing is that a lot of the Divi resort have time share (we are one of them) and sometimes there could be more families then the others that cater to honeymooners. We Did a search on the Divi Phoenix and it seems to be the one that caters to familes less then the others.

Re: Aruba: Which Hotel?
we recently booked the bucuit for our honeymoon. we liked that it seems more private than the other hotel options. and we liked tjhe way the rooms were decorated.
