As a bride --is this rude?

As a bride --is this rude?

Girls, I was questioned by an unnamed vendor who caught me on my house phone to ask if I have booked this certain service yet for my upcoming wedding. Now he has called and left many messages, I have not the time nor energy to call back but yes I tell him that service was booked months ago with someone else.

WELL he flipped, and said all of us (Brides) are rude and inconsiderate to just call back and tell them NO we do not need your place.

Truly, have any of you called back all your vendors when they call and ask Hi did you like us, and tell them' NO I booked someone else?'

Should we make the time to be honest and call back or should they just get the hint that we do not want to use them?
This goes for Catering Halls as well as djs, limos, florists and photographers.

Are we as busy brides rude??????????????

No, I think that's totally stupid. They're the ones making unsolicited phone calls and they are calling US rude? PUH-LEEEEZE!

I visited many halls and djs etc. and no I did not call back the ones I did not book---is that rude or just what is expected?
He could have a small point...........

No, I told these people many times that I hired someone else and they still freakin' called!!!!!!

If they want to spent their time telemarketing, they should not complain about the results!!!

Like we've got nothing better to do but return unwanted phone calls!!

Seriously, if I answer the phone and they ask then I politely tell them that I've booked someone else. But I couldn't imagine calling them up to tell them that, I think that would be even ruder.

I'd think (maybe) they'd get the hint after leaving 100 unanswered messages.

Why should we call them?? So they can harass us as to why we didn't book with them?? No thanks!!

Hi date twin!!

We saw quite a bit of places and vendors, and didn't call back any of them to let them know we went with someone else.

Only one vendor called me back...3x even though each time I kept telling them I had someone already.

Although what I find most annoying and extremely rude is when vendors call you out of nowhere, and you tell them you have it booked already, and then they have the balls to ask you 'which vendor did you go with?'

That's none of their damn freaking business!! It wasn't you, that's all you need to know!!

Wow...psycho vendor!!

So far I haven't had that happen, but I haven't checked out too many vendors yet.

As if...what is this guy thinking...sorry you had to put up with it

It is rude for that jerk to call you and harass you.

These people have nerve. They know we are going to shop around and if they don't give us the best deal (quality and pricewise) then they can't be surprised if we don't book them.

Hi date twin!!!

Yes --I agree except with the catering places. I never called back the ones we did not choose and they did call and send little cards, was it rude not to just acknowledge and thank them for their time, or do they get the hint ?

No wonder we get labeled bridezillas, after all they did take the time for us? I'm I just crazy or slightly guilt ridden by this maniac who yelled at me

Agreed!!!

I actually called one back after they had called every couple of days for 3 weeks. Told him we booked someone else, when he asked who I told him, and his answer was 'well, good luck with that' and he hung up!! And I never even contacted this vendor in the first place!

He has no right to yell at you regardless if they took their time out or not. Because even though you met with them that day, and they took time to meet with you, I can bet you that they had plenty of other brides meeting them that day as well. Because you didn't pick them is no reason to treat you like crap. Not once did I ever have a vendor get rude with me on the phone because of that.

If anything, that should just convince you even more that you made the right choice in NOT choosing them!!

There is no way I can call back all of the people that have been calling me. I do/did have a dj that keep calling me, I told him the last time he called that I will call him when we are ready.

you're not rude, he IS!

UGH! I used to get calls from my hall's house DJ ALL the time. thankfully it was only at work. I spoke to them once and that was it. they kept calling every few weeks, and even 1 week before my wedding. geee, do you think I might have a DJ a week before my wedding?

2 words for vendors who don't get a callback:
STOP CALLING!

you have no responsibility to call back. ESPECIALLY if it's an unasked for cold call. i hate those.
