Girls, I was questioned by an unnamed vendor who caught me on my house phone to ask if I have booked this certain service yet for my upcoming wedding. Now he has called and left many messages, I have not the time nor energy to call back but yes I tell him that service was booked months ago with someone else.
WELL he flipped, and said all of us (Brides) are rude and inconsiderate to just call back and tell them NO we do not need your place.
Truly, have any of you called back all your vendors when they call and ask Hi did you like us, and tell them' NO I booked someone else?'
Should we make the time to be honest and call back or should they just get the hint that we do not want to use them? This goes for Catering Halls as well as djs, limos, florists and photographers.
Are we as busy brides rude??????????????

Re: As a bride --is this rude?
IMO you do not need to call every vendor to visit to let them know if you will go with them or not. I visited many halls and if thats the case I am very rude! Oh well. Life goes on
Whoever that was IMO was RUDE!

I think they are rude for constantly calling my house and cell phone and trying to push themselves on me. IF i happen to pick up,,,and i stress the IF, i simply tell them, 'thank you for calling but when i'm ready I'll call you' end of story. that guy has some nerve. you should post who he is becuase I do not want to deal with anyone who behaves that way!

Re: As a bride --is this rude?
THere was ONE hall that we called back after we decided not to go with them. The guy had been responding to many questions and was really helpful and I felt that we should let him know. Also, he had been holding our date. But he was NOT cold calling me and there were many other vendors that I did not call after I went to see them.

Re: As a bride --is this rude?
wow--since when is that rude??? it is implied that if you wanted their service, you would contact them. not hearing from you is an indication that you're not interested. if i had to call every vendor i looked into, i'd be on the phone for solid hours.
that vendor is very stupid to have done that, because he showed his professionalism right there! and that would turn me so off that if anyone ever asked me about that particular vendor, i would state this incident and speak of them unfavorably!

Re: As a bride --is this rude?
I never call them back and yes it's rude for THEM to expect a callback. One of my hall's vendors has called me at least 5 times already. I love Caller ID

Re: As a bride --is this rude?
I told one vendor that we went with someone else but that is because he gave us a really good price and he was referred to me by a friend. Everyone else, I have not called back. Definitely NOT halls though.

How strange He sounds lonely maybe he is just tired of giving his number out and girls not calling him back.

Re: As a bride --is this rude?
some vendors are rude... I have this one florist calling my house once a month to see if I booked anything. Last week she called and asked my dad if I got a flortist yet! Like my dad knows!

I think that vendor is nuts. It is not possible to call back all the vendors you did not want to use and tell them. I think it would be a waste of the brides time & the vendors.
The only reason you should call back a vendor is if they offered to hold a date for you. You should then get back to them as soon as possible with a decision.

Re: As a bride --is this rude?
the vendor is insane -- please let future brides know who the vendor is, so they'll know what they're in for!
It would be like shopping for a car and calling every dealer you went to to tell them you bought a car somewhere else. Not going to happen!

Re: As a bride --is this rude?
I cannot count the amount of calls I received from vendors. Unfortunately I answered the phone most of the time. But I can't say that anyone ever called me twice. Thank god.

they should get the hint when we dont call back I can understand a follow up call but NO more after that I have this one place every month they call and leave a message on my cell phone and I never call them back but they keep on calling....go ahead wast your time...you would think Hello If I was interested by now I would have called you back

Re: As a bride --is this rude?
I only called the hair and makeup people who I didn't book with to let them know I was going with someone else, and they were all very appreciative that I called. But that was, IMO, going above and beyond what was really expected of me.
There was one case, however, where I cancelled a follow up appointment with a vendor because I was booking with someone else, and they called me and asked about it. Then they tricked me into coming back in, gave me the hard sell, and said something to me that put me in TEARS.
Some vendors are going to be nicer than others. That's what we have these boards for though!

Re: As a bride --is this rude?
I'm very worried about vendors calling me to see if I've booked anyone else because I feel so bad letting them down. I know it sounds stupid but most of the people we met with were all so nice, whether it's their real personality or their sales tactic I have no idea, but I feel so bad telling people I sat with for an hour that I'm not booking them. That's why I'm hoping no one calls me

Re: As a bride --is this rude?
One vendor in particular, kept calling after we met with them, and when I told her that we indeed booked with someone else, she was like, Oh.. well who was it? I proceeded to say I don't think thats any of your concern, and she hung up on me. As if I could care

Re: As a bride --is this rude?
That is ridiculously rude. I've had one vendor constantly call me on my cell phone. I usually don't answer the phone, but the last time she called I finally answered and told her that I had already booked the service she was pushing. She thanked me and said she'd take me off their list. That is what they should do. There's no need to be rude.
Just editing to say it's the VENDOR being rude, not us Brides.
