I would say limos & flowers, so you could get the 2005 rate. For some reason, vendors gradually increased their rates each year. Plus, there are several liwedding 06'ers in October who have already booked their limo & florist. Good Luck Kerry

I'm also an October 2006 bride and here is what i've done so far:

-reception/ceremony location
-priest
-photographer
-videographer
-florist
-DJ
-rehearsal dinner site
-ordered wedding dress
-picked out BM dresses
-booked honeymoon
-sent save the dates (sent early due to holiday weekend-columbus day)
-picked out invitations
-decided on favors

*But keep in mind i like to do things ahead of schedule, plus i kind of want all the planning to be over with.

*If i were you, i'd go wedding dress shopping. They say once you order your dress, it takes about 10 months to be completed (w/fittings and all). My FSIL ordered her dress and lost so much weight that they had to reorder a different size (at no cost to her). It happens. But i would at least take a look and have a dress in mind before February. IMO.

I'm an '06 bride too. I've booked the place. That's about it. I have an idea of the photographer and band, but otherwise, one step at a time. I'm also working on a tentative guest list, which means getting addresses. Not sure if I'm behind schedule, but I always try to remember that weddings can be planned in six months (a girl at work did it in that time frame and it was a great wedding). I also try to remember that vendors apply pressure because they want you to book their venue. It's very easy to get pressured by their timeline, which is really self-serving. I think you're doing just fine!! Enjoy the process!

i think you are doing great!!!! i think florist should be next and then limos -- but i do'nt think you have to stress about getting them done. but, it is a good point that you might be able to secure '05 rates if you do it before the end of the year.

Here's what I have done so far:

-Picked out band
-Blocked rooms for OOT
-Held space for Bridal brunch day later
--Have make up trial

We have PLENTY of time. I am holding off on doing the girls dresses until after the holidays and have just begun looking for a limo guy. I will do Save the dates after xmas as well.

I feel like a slacker. Sheesh! Guess I should jump on the limo train after I book the florist. Apparently I can only obsess over one thing at a time, haha.

if i were you, i would do the flowers, and limos soon. my wedding is end of 06' and some limo places told me specific cars were booked.. i would get a jump on it. plus the more you get done early, the more time you will have..

That's it! I have no idea who is actually going to be in my bridal party, who is actually going to marry us, what we're wearing, what kind of flowers I want, etc. I got the major things taken care of, but I really need to get my butt in gear!

I do however, have appointments for florists and for DJs this month, so maybe I'm not such a slacker

I would try and get the 05 rate for everything possible!
