As anyone used Millimeter Photography??

We really liked their work, and FH is a photographer so he is SUPER picky!!! I just wanted to know if anyone had booked with them or used them recently, what you liked/didn't like, etc? Also if you met with them and didn't book, what were your reasons? Thanks!

hey! we met with them and liked them (i liked them more than FH).

the reason we didnt book with them was that they were a bit more than we wanted to spend...they didnt do digital layout albums (which FH and I both want...and know that we will NOT ever have the energy to do it ourselves)...and then we found our current photographer (better pricing, great work, and beautiful albums)

HTH! GL!

yea i think 12th night is our runner up. my mom wants albums, but FH thinks its kind of a waste of money because he can put them together himself. i was like, 'but you are actually going to get your butt to do it, right??' cuz i know he is lazy sometimes!

Re: As anyone used Millimeter Photography??

the albums were a pretty big factor in FHs mind...because who knows when/if we will have time to do albums. and the ones 12th night does are GORGEOUS....millimeter had really BASIC albums...

also, i must say, i was comforted by reading reviews of 12th night and seeing how happy past brides have been....and knowing that god-forbid if something happened to the main photog, 12th night has a staff of very talented photogs!

but, i did also like millimeter and i felt very at-ease with them.

just do a pros/cons list...

HTH!!! GL!! Either way, you guys have good taste in photographers

hahah.. yea, i think FH likes the whole owner-run and operated, small business type thing, since he aspires to one day do the same thing. but i definitely hear what you are saying! aside from this vendor, i am pretty much running the show... so i feel like i should let him be a main deciding factor on this one, since it's so important to him. either way, it's just basically what your personal preference is! hopefully it will work out for the best! :)

i feel this way about soooo many vendors.....one one hand i want to support the small, new businesses....then on the other i just want some more guarantee that they will still be around and in business...

this has been something ive struggled with with many many vendors. for video we picked a small business cuz i loved his work too much not to (JPI)!! and we are considering this option with florists now...

im sure millimeter will do an amazing job. if FH likes them, you should book them...and MAKE SURE HE MAKES YOU ALBUMS :)

Millimeter is an excellent choice BUT I was going to use them for something else and found them to be very overpriced for what they offered.

Have you looked into Imagine Studios- I am using them and LOVE their work!

yea it ***** b/c with the economy right now, i feel like you have to think even harder about booking with people, in the sense not only are they going to do a good job, but are they still going to be in business a year from now?? it's pretty scary!

I haven't checked out imagine studios yet... i'll give them a look! thanks for the tip :)

I am soooo happy with Imagine- it's a husband and wife team...just the ideal people you would want to spend your wedding day with! I couldn't be happier and both FH and I were very critical- we are thrilled with our engagement photos and the work they have done for us thus far.

Great vendors!

I have to say I LOVE Millimeter! They are so friendly and helpful. Talk to them, Mike is really great at working with you to get a price that makes you comfortable and includes or doesnt include what you want. We had a blast doing our engagement shoot with them and look fwd to working with them next week at the wedding!

Good Luck!

Re: As anyone used Millimeter Photography??

So FH spoke to the owner at Millimeter today and he said he likes them. I'm going to meet with them the next time I'm home (in a few weeks), and hopefully if all goes well we will be booking with them! That was not as hard as I anticipated... phew!

Re: As anyone used Millimeter Photography??

Mike did my friend's wedding and her pictures were absolutely beautiful. They were a bit pricey, but they are very professional. i will say this though, make sure you have a Must Take photo list, and you stay on top of it. They missed a few key VIP shots and you cannot get those back. It wasn't Mike, but his #2 who missed it... and #2 kept calling the bride's parents by the wrong name, which may have factored into taking the wrong shots. It also took a long time to get the pictures and the album back. So just stay on top of them... but they produce beautiful work.

that's good to know! i am very good at staying 'on' people so hopefully that won't be a problem... however, on your wedding day... they should kind of be taking over that aspect, you don't want to have to be organizing the photo taking process when you have enough going on with your own pictures, greeting guests, and remembering to be in the moment!!

Thats very true... but usually you're aware during that time of who stood with who where...who you posed with and your parents/bridal party will tell you if they didn't take pic yet. If you hire a DOC or trust one of your BMs implicitly, you'll be fine. They really produce great work, but the stress until you see it was a lot.

Re: As anyone used Millimeter Photography??

i'm not planning to hire a DOC. it sounds like a great idea, but i feel like it's just not really in the budget. i'd rather spend the money elsewhere. with all the people that my venue provides, plus my mom and my BMs, and I , hopefully we'll be fine! :)
