Had enough drama to start the week... which I won't get into again.
FH just called me and told me FedEx fired him. Apparently since they don't want to lay people off (to avoid severences & unemployment) they will find little things to add up & fire you over. They did this to another co-worker of his as well.
They accused him of coming in 2 hours before his start time and punching it, leaving & then coming back. Which is a load of crap. I know he's not one to get up extra early and be there at 6:15am when he;s not due in to 8:30am... and he doesn't have a car and would have to walk 4 miles to work & then back again.
Then they said his time card was smuged. What a bunch of bull. Yeah he must have done it *rolls eyes*. He said it wasn't smuged when he left. Besides it's all logged electronically on his pad when he gets back to the station & even leaves and does stops.
Then it was a write up he got 3 weeks ago for only have 93% of his packes in on time.... when you're supposed have 95%
Maybe this was a blessing in digsuise. He got an interview at UPS next week. They pay more & they are union. He is fighting the termination in the mean while. but if UPS accepts him he's going to just switch to them/
I just hope UPS taks him. More money and better working enviroment.

aww that's horrible!! these people are a bunch of crooks!!! I wish you both the best of luck and stay positive perhaps there's something better out there for him

Sorry 09 crashing here !!!!!!!! I worked for Fedex for 12 years in Manhattan and resigned in 2000 but I am still close with a lot of people from there.... and I tell you, things have changed so much that so many drivers are leaving and moving on to other places... the company is not like it was years ago.... it is true... they do try to find things to get rid of you .... management gets heat from the upper mgmt since they don't know how to do their jobs ... so they hand it down to the drivers and blame it on them... tell FH he is better off to go to UPS since they do have a union ...but he should fight Fedex for letting him go... he does have the open door policy ... so go for it .... don't let them get away with anything !!!!!!!!! FM me if anything ... and tell FH I said Good Luck !!!!!!!!!!!

I didnt realize Fedex int union! Ugh UPS is awesome FFIL works for them they are teamsters....good luck to you and FH hun ! I hope he gets UPS

Thanks FedEx is awful. FH had watched them give other workers hard/crappy routes & crazy start time, problems etc until they quit. They started doing it to him and he had a feeling this was coming but figured they would have to fire him before he resigned willingly. Honestly with all the people leaving or getting fired I don't know how they are distrubuting the work and expectingit all to be done on time.
He's going to try to fight it with FedEx in the mean time, but if UPS takes him he's just going to take that job and forget about it. Union + more money. He's got the C Class license now so that helps him a great deal.
I'm just going to be stressed until I know what's going on. I'm just glad I don't owe my hall a payment until January.

Goodness sorry to hear that.... Now is def not the time to be unemployed.. I pray UPS works out for him... dont worry when people lie to get you fired -their day will come soon...

I'm sorry this happened to you. FEDEX is horrible. My friend worked for them for three months before he couldn't stand it anymore. He's working for sanitation now and MUCH happier.
