Just wanted to know if I need to ask the bridal party in a special way. I asked my sister to be my MOH with a card, but 3 others already know they are in my BP, so my question is do I need to ask them even though they already know, or should I leave it as it is? The other two who didn't know I asked personally, but I am not sure about the others.

Re: Asking Bridal Party
My girls all knew who they were. I jokingly asked my MOH when I called her to tell her I got engaged (7 something in the morning on a saturday!) but I didn't bother 'asking' anyone else.

Re: Asking Bridal Party
I've only asked my MOH, I think some of my other bridesmaids are assuming they are in the party. It's up to you,. I'm just going to ask them outright, no card since some of them live out of town I figured I'd just call and ask.

I just came out and asked them. I think some of them knew I was going to ask.

Re: Asking Bridal Party
I think it is nice to officially ask them even if they already know. I asked my bridal party on Christmas Eve because we were all together, but only one of them was surprised, it was a given for everyone else.

Re: Asking Bridal Party
I asked each of mine officially. I'm going a step further to tell my other friends that we couldn't put in about our decision. It's not easy but I would rather them hear it from me.

I asked mine all 'officially'. I asked them informally.

I asked my girls, but most of them knew from the day I told them I got engaged. My MOH was like - I am starting the planning right now!!! Love her!!

Re: Asking Bridal Party
my maid of honor always knew she would be my MOH.
2 of my bridesmaids I just asked and the 3rd bridesmaid when I told her I got engaged, she said to me 'well you are going to have a lot of fun and planning to do' and i said to her 'well you are too because I would love for you to be a bridesmaid and Brian would be honored to have Bart - her hubby as a groomsmen' she was so surprised and excited.
My matron lives in FL and when Bri and I were going to FL to see her and her hubby who is the best man, we didnt tell them we were engaged. When we got down there we let them see it on there own. It took the guy 2 hours to notice but my Matron took her 5 minutes to notice it on my finger. We started screaming and laughing and crying and then I just came out and asked her if she would be my matron. She was crying, I was crying. She had no idea and was so excited.

Re: Asking Bridal Party
Everyone pretty much knows who is in my bridal party but I wanted to do something special too. I am actually using LA Productions. I ordered cute cards with little dresses on them in the color I want for my wedding and it says...will you be my bridesmaid, I then got one asking for my Maid of Honor, and 3 for flower girls. Since everyone is pretty far apart from me...NY, NJ, CT I am sending them in the mail with fake rose petals I bought from Target with a cute poem for each one. It's not much but I wanted to do something special. It was inexpensive too.

I have been thinking about this too--my SIL knows she is my MOH and my cousin knows she is in my wedding and I informally asked FH's sister--but I might as it draws closer do something special--maybe take them out to lunch or send a special cards! You ladies had some nice ideas!

Re: Asking Bridal Party
My friends really just knew. I only have five people. I did not want anymore than that. I have one friend that may expect to be in it, but is not. I just never bring it up around her.

Re: Asking Bridal Party
For My Bridesmaid Rosanna
In life there are old friends and those who are new, when choosing a bridesmaid it had to be you. From the moment we met you've been the friend, always close by with a shoulder to lend.
So I thank you for all your help and concern, conversation filled days, and all that I've learned.
Without you I don't know what I would have done, certainly not had near as much fun.
In life there are old friends and those who are new, but none like the true friend I've found in you.
Even though we don’t speak everyday and I don’t see you as often as I would like I would be honored if you would stand by me on a winter day when my love is sworn to Ronnie.
Love you always, Theresa

Kath … With Love Theresa
12/25/02 A friend who's good and true. Who will wear a dress to show her colors through and through. Who will listen to gold and white or flaming red and orangey bright. A friend who will dance with heart knowing every part. A friend who will shower me with tokens of love and liberty as my days of single-hood fly by me.
You've been there when I did not have a dime, and did not mind when I would cry. You've loved me through the storm and picked me up when I was torn. Now please be my side as I would be honored to have you as my Matron of Honor on a Winter day when to me my love is sworn.
