asking my bridesmaids

I just got a cute idea for asking my BMs.. I was planning on waiting until a year before but I really can't wait to ask and we are having our engagement party this summer so I think this is what I am going to do...

Have them come a little early to the engagement party, where I will ask them... I was thinking I can make them each one of those giant cupcakes (you have probably seen the infomercial), with something written on it like 'Team BRIDE' and write them each a nice letter telling them why I want them to be on my team blah blah blah... do you guys think it's a good idea to ask them at the E party? I don't want them to be put on the spot really but I like this idea and I don't think they will say no lol!

PS I will probably get some kind of sash or something or a t shirt that says team bride on the front and and then 2012 and a nickname on the back... we all have weird nicknames lol long story but I thought it would be funny!

Umm I like the idea of TEAM BRIDE! But I don't like that you are putting them on the spot at your actual engagement party. I would maybe have like a dinner before hand with just the people you want to be in your bridal party to ask them.

My team was asked on their own. Guys got a sweet a s s 'man dinner' and girl all got lil prizes to bribe them to put up with my crap till wedding. The whole bridal party got postcards asking them and detailing their duties in a funny way

I think its a great idea!

If you area sure they will all say yes then do it, it will be a nice day to celebrate together too!

buttt, taking them out beforehand is not a bad idea either.

I made all my girls cookies and bought cards from Etsy and took them out to dinner, it was fun!

either way it will be great, im sure!

We had a party which the people that were invited thought it was our engagement party. As it turns out, we had a party for them (the bridal party). We had them all stand in our living room and we made a toast and we said all of you standing in our living room tonight will also stand next to us as we marry. I gave the girls the ornament below.

However you ask them, I am sure they will all be thrilled!!! Good Luck!!!
