I just did it over the phone. I've seen people do really cute cards or have a lunch/dinner, but I wanted to keep it simple.

my sister jsut knew ....My one friend ....I told her well i am picked out her close for the wedding she just looked at me and i was like ya well your my BM and she just almost cried

sorry to be an 05 hijacker...but here is what i did feel free to use it and modify...
to ask my MOH i gave her a bunch of cheesy crap with little sayings....gloves-- u held my hand w hen i needed it most
silly putty-- we had some silly times
flip flops-- you walked beside me as my best friend
amd many more, and then there was a little puzzle that said will you be my moh. i mailed it to her as part of her bday gift since we live far apart.
for my other best friend i made a little dr suess type poem and made a little bookl that i had bound with little pics that went with each stanza.
for all other BMs i did like what i did for my MOH wiht just 1 thing (ie flip flops with you have walked beside me as my friend, now walk with me as my bridesmaid) etc.

I was lazy and didn't really ask, just told them that they are a bridesmaid if it's ok. one I did by email., I've seen cute emails you can send or cards.
