Astoria Girls... bakery related

I know there are a lot of girls on these boards from Astoria and I have a question. I work at a middle school in Astoria and I wanted to pick up good pastries after school tomorrow for the holidays. Where is the best Italian bakery in Astoria? Thanks in advance if you can help me!

Theres a place on Ditmars called La Guli's/ Its family owned and has been there for years. Their pastries are pretty famous all around Astoria and they are delicious. Its right near Ditmars and 31st Street.

if you want italian pastries then try laguli's on 29th street and ditmars or try terrizzi's bakery by 30th avenue and 36th street. Those are the two well known Italian bakeries in astoria, they are both very good. I like terrizzi's more, i even worked there as a teenager, it was my favorite bakery. Havent gone recently so not sure if they still have the same baker but they have been around forever so no matter what they will always have great stuff, the owners always make sure of that

Denise, I hear that Terrizzi closed down in October...I havent really paid attention when I pass by to see if they re-opened. Supposedly the newest owner went on vacation and closed the shop and then never re-opened it??? I have to find out if he ever opened again. They were one of the best in Astoria.

Ladies, thank you so much for all of your suggestions! I'm going to see if that Terrizzis place is open and if not, then I'll try Laguli's which should be really close to me!
