Some of you might know I have been waiting for my dress to be in for a bit. It was supposed to be in on the 11th. When I called on the 11th, they said call back Monday. I called back Monday, they said it hadn't been shipped yet, to call back Friday. I called back Friday, they said it wasn't in yet, but there were some shipments that came in that they hadn't opened.
So I call back today and they said they don't check orders on the weekends, to try again on Monday!!! WTH!!!! This place is really starting to aggravate me!! What if I had driven all the way out there to Brooklyn without calling?? What were they going to tell me then??!!
Keep in mind this is the same shop that wanted to ruin my dress by cutting inches off the bottom and completely ignored me and my BMs for 45 min when we went there for BM dresses - and that was WITH an appointment!!
My only consolation for the day is that at least my e-pics are ready to pick up, and I'm doing that later.

Is that some kind of joke? HA! Next time they want a payment you should said 'Sorry, I don't write checks on Tuesdays!'

Sorry to hear u are going through this J, I know exactly the place u are referring to. i know three brides who have used them over the past two years and all in all they looked beautiful the day of and everything was done on time..so don't worry, it will all work out.
I know from their experiences with them, they had to stay on top of them, which happens in many other places too. You are doing the right thing by calling.
Just stay on them u will be fine.

I'm having the alterations done elsewhere, there's no way I'm letting them touch my dress after they wanted to cut 2 inches off the bottom or bring it up from the waist. (It has to be specially made for hollow to hem!!)
All I can think is thank God I pushed for it to be in early. If this was happening when it was supposed to come in (early January) I would be driving there right now to go scream at them!!!

that is so frustrating! It's a great idea to have your dress altered somewhere else once you finally get it!

I had my mother call them since she lives 5 minutes away, and could go there if there was a problem. That, and if I called, I would end up screaming, and I really didn't want to have to do that.
She called and spoke to the woman I had mainly been dealing with who is the only one there who has been nice to me so far. She said my dress is in, and I can try it on tomorrow. She said the other woman I spoke to probably told me about not checking orders is because they are extremely busy on the weekends, and it's hard to stop what they're doing to do that. I don't know why she didn't just say that, I would have understood!!!
What gets me is I had the salon where I'm getting my BM dresses tell me this is the slow season!! Apparently not the case in Brooklyn.
On a better note, I will be going tomorrow to finally try on the dress. And I picked up my e-pics and they are amazing!!! It's going to take a while to scan a few, but I will try to put some up today!!

Amanda, all I can tell you is this: If you need to know about your dress, ask for Colette. I believe she is one of the seamstresses, but she is always in the bridal section. She is the one person there who has been nothing but a sweetheart. I can't say the same for everyone else.
Also I would say if you have to call them or go in the store, do it during the week. It is a zoo there on the weekends, and therefore they won't be able to be as attentive.
I would follow my own advice, but since you know how far I live from there, going there for fittings in the middle of winter is just not an option for me anymore. Our car has 104,000 miles on it, and we're going to NH next weekend. I don't want to take any chances.
