(*@&#(&^@# Make-up vent!

One of my girlfriends is a make-up artist, and I asked her to do my make-up for the wedding. She was really excited about it, and said she would do it.

I've been trying to get a hold of her for over two weeks to schedule a trial. She hasn't texted or called me back at all! Yesterday I texted her saying I was sorry I was making her nuts, but was trying to make final arrangements and wanted to know if I should make alternative arrangements. She STILL hasn't gotten back to me!!

I know that it's still 8 months away, but this stuff books fast! I'm really disappointed, because I wasn't looking to spend a fortune, but now I might have to. Should I start looking elsewhere, or wait and see if she gets in touch?

So sorry to hear your friend hasn't gotten back to you. I would suggest starting to look at some other makeup artists, so that you don't have to wait until the last minute in case she continues to ignore you! Good luck!!

I am so sorry about that. Will you keep me in the loop with quotes you get... I have no idea how much a make-up artist costs.

Thanks for the tip! Do you know if she'll travel to Queens?

I would start looking elsewhere because if she's doing this now, who's to say she won't do it the week of the wedding!

It sucks that this is happening to you and it sucks more that this is your friend. I would start looking for another makeup artist because you never know if she is going to flake out on you closer to the wedding.

I would look elsewhere just in case so you aren't stuck in a last minute jam!

That sucks! Definitely look elsewhere because you do not want to be stuck without a MUA.

Hi there!

So I've done some make-up research, and am mostly looking at people in Queens. I've found most want between $40-$75 for a trial and are between $125-$150ish for day of.

I'm actually doing a trial for $50 with my sister's friend, who is a licensed make-up artist. She will be charging me $75 for the day of and $60 for additional face.

I'd be happy to recommend her if I'm happy with my trial.
