at my engagement party, do i ...

at my engagement party, do i need to give my mom a gift or whatnot since she is paying for it?

Also, we're not doing any favors ... is that bad?

I think it would be nice....after all she did pay for it. I think getting her something to show your apprciate it would mean alot to her.

As for favors...its not a must..but I think you can even just make choc...they look cute, taste good and very affordable!

I didn't give parent gifts although they paid for it.

I made a little speech and thanked them.

We did give favors though.

and yes you should give favors. give candy bars...something.

I think the gift for your mom is a nice gesture but not necessary. You could maybe just take her out for a dinner or something like that afteward.

As for the favors, maybe do something small, like hersey kisses in a small box. You don't have to go crazy.

you do not have to give your mom a gift but you should take the time to thank her during the party.

as for favors, you should give something

I got my mom a little precious moment cuz they are her fav.

as for my dad and future in-laws, i didnt get them anything, although they did contribute!

ETA: Yes you should have favors, it's a nice jesture. Even if it's a little jar with your names on it containing candy or something. We gave candles and they were like $4 each all wrapped and everything.
