at the end of my rope

at the end of my rope

I feel so stressed out now w/about 7 weeks until the wedding. I have done just about 100% of the work/planning. I asked FI over a week ago to get him & the local groomsmen measured (they all live in the same town). He told me last monday 'it will be done by the end of the week'. So, friday comes along & it's still not done. He tells me it will be done by the end of the weekend. Here it is Sunday & still not done. I just flipped out on him & have been in tears most of the day. It's just the principal of it- I've done EVERYTHING & I give him 1 friggin job & he can't pull through for me. We've been fighting all day. We don't live together (1hr apart for now), so we've been calling, yelling, hanging up, & repeat- all throughout the day...... I don't know if it's because it's crunchtime now & the stress level is climaxing or what. Anyone else feeling like this?? I jsut feel like I've been working so hard to get this dream wedding together & he doesn't care or appreciate it....

I totally felt like that...Thankfully with 2 weeks to go FH has stepped up 110% (a couple of weeks ago). He's been wonderful. I think they just do not understand all that we do...eventually they do...thankfully in my case it's not too late...HOPEFULLY in your case he'll realize too.

Sorry you've got to deal w/ this. Maybe you could try talking to him when you guys aren't fighting - people are more receptive when there is no big fight going on. You might have to give him an idea of all the work you've done. It's really not fair that you have to carry the burden. Good luck

I'm not as close to getting married as you are, but I have heard many similar things from other brides to be. Take a deep breath. Have a good nights sleep and let him deal with it. It will get done. He knows he did wrong. You are doing an amazing job with everything else

so typical. I could tell you stories that would make you feel better. They're just not as into it as we are. They don't see what all the fuss is about. They gave us the ring, their job is over!

What are you going to do- I'm sure he'll get his job done! In the meantime, here's a

awww!
maybe you should take control of the tuxes now, and later when he sees this incredible day of beautiful detail and complete organization that you've put together on your own, he might appreciate and apologize! But for now, if you want something done right (and on time) do it yourself!!! Keep your head up and just keep going!!!

I completely understand where you are coming from. My FH has done nothing. Just this past weekend I made the tuxe appointment and forced him to go. And, we just got our wedding rings. I have been asking him for weeks if we could go look at them, and he would blow me off. So finally I just went and bought 2 rings. I gave him his, and he loved it, but was disappointed that we didn't pick them up together. Hello, that's what I was trying to do.

Sometimes you just gotta take the bull by the horns.

Re: at the end of my rope

Thanks girls!! It's somewhat comforting to know I am not alone- but I wish the men would be as proficent as us so we all don't have to go throught this!!! I wish I could do the tux thing by myself- but physically getting all the 7 groomsmen to the store seems a bit more then I can handle!! lol FI and I live an hour apart right now so I need to relay on him to get stuff done without me babysitting.... and it ***** having to deal with this all over the phone. He was working this weekend so he couldn't come to my house- & my parents were visiting so I couldn't leave either... so, I was really upset about not seeing him & I think everything just built up from there.... we never really argue- if we do, it's over immedetely.... sometimes I can't wait till the wedding is over & I can live a normal life again!! (Oh, and I resigned from my job on thurs also- just to throw another wrench into the mix)
