Atkins Diet

Anyone know what lo-carb foods we can eat on the Atkins diet?

Other than meat, lettuce and eggs...

I hate that diet. My BIL was on it and suddenly died of a heart problem...he was only 30. That diet scares me

Re: Atkins Diet

my dr. always recommends WW because it is the healthiest. Atkins allows too much fat in it

Re: Atkins Diet

Awe, thank you! That is very nice of you to say! But I have gained alot of weight in the last 5.5 years. I looked it up. I only have to do this for two weeks, and then I bring carbs back in to the picture.

'This is the first 2 weeks (14 days of the diet). Your goal during this period is: a) to change your body from burning Carbohydrates to burning Fat. b:) Stabilize your blood sugar & stop cravings to sugar and other carbs. c:) Demonstrate that you can burn fat without counting calories. d:) Get your body into ketosis.'

I have been reading up on it, am eating carbs, but staying at or under teh recommended amount.
