Hi everyone, This is my first post on here, and I was looking for some feedback from anyone who might have gotten married at the Atlantis Aquarium. I'm getting married there on 10/13/13 and our cocktail hour is in the aquarium, but our reception is in the new seastar ballroom. I want to hire a photographer who is pretty familiar with the aquarium, being as though it is a unique venue and I could see if someone isn't as experienced there, some of the shots might not work.
We spoke with one of their 'house photographers' from ADA and he seemed very unprofessional and just didn't sit right with me. So if you have gotten married there, and can recommend some vendors (not just the photographer/videographer) that you used I'd really appreciate it.
Thank you in advance for any help that you might be able to give me.

Atlantis Aquarium wedding... vendor suggestions?
I don't know anything about the Aquarium, but I have a great wedding planner, who is also doing my flowers and decor. If you are looking for decor and a day of coordinator.

I'm shocked you had a problem with ADA... we were amazed with their professionalism when we sat down with them yesterday. Who did you speak with?

I've heard very mixed things about ADA - check out Ken Hild. I think he may have some experience shooting there!

I didn't love ADA when I met with them either. Try also posting this on the Brides Helping Brides boards. You may get more readers over there.

I've come to notice (especially with friends planning their weddings/ attending weddings) that 'in house' vendors do not do nearly as good of a job as outside vendors do. For instance, I attended a wedding recently at a well known all-inclusive Brooklyn reception venue.. THE DJ WAS TERRIBLE. Also, in-house coordinators are known for not returning calls, answering emails or setting up decor as they should. I'm so happy I randomly found a great DOC.

congrats atlantis is a great venue! no photog help here though :( I'm still on the hunt..
I would agree with some of the other girls - don't worry about using recommended vendors or vendors that have worked there. A good photographer will know what to do. The best thing is to meet a couple or go on their websites and look at their work. This was four years ago, but a friend of mine used ADA and I didn't like their photos (he had her laying on the ground in her dress before the reception?!? ) But they were happy with him so it all depends how you feel.
