Even though this is not in Long Island- has anyone ever had or been to a wedding at the Atlantis in the Bahamas? Can anyone give information on price?environment?etc.

That place is beautiful! Although I have never been, a huge deterrent has been the massive amounts of kids that you see in every picture or commercial about the place (or recordings on TV shows).
I think the One&Only Ocean Club in Paradise Island (adjacent to Atlantis) would be more romantic and secluded for a wedding.

My opinion is different. I was there in april and the place is absolutely amazing!!!! the word romantic does not even come close to how wonderful it is! My fiance and i even bought timeshare there. While there we saw many parties being held outside..(from our room windows) and they looked awesome!! HTH!

Why Atlantis? There are lots of kids and trip advisor has some negative reviews about it. There are other more romantic places in the area. We were thinking to go there but we changed our minds after reading the reviews.

It is really a beautiful hotel! I have to say there is a lot of kids though. I did not stay at this hotel the two times I have gone, so I can't comment on the rooms.
I am not a big fan of Bahamas, but this resort is really nice.
I picked up a brochure on prices, and I the cheapest room is in the $300 and up. I think there is an off season, where it is a little bit cheaper, but not much.

I was there in '03, and depending on what kind of wedding you are looking to have the place is awesome. However, if you are looking to have a romantic intimate wedding, this is not the place to go. The atmosphere reminded me a lot of Disney...lots of children, big family spot and VERY expensive.
