Re: Atlantis Marine World
I heard there's really no place for the DJ to go and the tables are set up throughout the tanks, so it's a little strange.

Re: Atlantis Marine World
I was going to look there, and even had an appointment, but I wound up bringing my little cousin during the day before the appointment and there was an event going on in the outside tent. The tent would have no bearing on a wedding, because weddings are indoors in the midst of the tanks, but I saw the waiters walking by and although they were wearing black pants and vests, they were all dirty. Like they were wiping everything on their pants! The chairs are cheap and cheesy..and the whole place has a fishy smell.
I've never been to a wedding there though, so it is possible that they do a major transformation to elegance for the night...but I didn't think so, so I cancelled my appointment.
Also, the huge shark hanging from the ceiling and the gift shop at the entrance turned me off.
Oh yeah, and from what I've heard, they set up the tables kinda weird, so the tables are in a serparate area from the dance floor and DJ.
There are a few girls that got married there though, and raved about it. So I say check it out and decide for yourself.

Re: Atlantis Marine World
i will FM you some info, but to anyone interested in a unique and FUN wedding, just make an appt and check it out for yourself! they really do transform the place for weddings! i watched them set up for a wedding before we booked to make sure of this, and of course i was happy with them for my wedding as well! the dancing and tables are i different areas, but right next to one another and my guests loved it this way and so did i, but it makes more sense to visualize it if you see for yourself! as for a fishy smell, when you first walk in you will smell an aquarium smell-bc don't forget, thats where you are-and there is the open sting ray area to your left, but about 30 seconds of being there you do not smell it anymore. they have soooo many options, indoor outdoor wedding, CH, etc. my guests are still raving about our wedding bc it was different than the same catering hall venue they have been to time and time again! its not for everyone, but you can check it out for yourself! pics: our wedding album by timexposures

Re: Atlantis Marine World
Went to a wedding there last October. It was nice, and it didn't feel too much different from a regular hall. I don't know how many guests were there, maybe 125-150. I agree with previous posters, the set-up is a little strange. About half the tables were sent up along the arched wall on the main level, and then the other half were in the same room but upstairs (there is a staircase in the room to get up/down). It was different having guests separated like that, but they really did their best to make sure people who knew each other were on the same floor...I didn't really see it as a problem having the 2 floors, but it was different.
I agree, the DJ/dancing set-up was a bit odd though. They had the DJ and dance floor in a room right next to where we ate...from our table, we could look out and see people dancing in the next room (it's a really wide doorway if I remember correctly), but others probably couldn't see from their tables (especially those seated upstairs). It did kind of separate the party.
I don't really remember the food, but I'm sure it was ok. Overall, it really was nice to go somewhere different, and everything worked out nicely there. HTH!
ETA: I don't really remember experiencing a fishy smell.

Re: Atlantis Marine World
oh i forgot to add, you can use the upstairs part for seating if you want, but unless you are having alot of people (150-200+) you don't have to. we had 100 and we had plenty of room. when you have your wedding at an aquarium, people are not going to be at their seats much, so the unique set up with the dance floor and dining tables works great there. people are moving around and having fun. :)
