I booked my wedding at Atlantis Marine World late last year. We loved the venue, the service, our salesman/maitre'd. However, he has since left and now the service 'ain't so good'. I can't get replies, when I do get replies to questions, they are nasty or seem disinterested; I even had someone argue with me on the phone! I feel completely deflated. The last straw was when I was told I could not taste any of the food I choose for my guests. Apparently, they have bridal showcases, which we went to one, but everything on the menu is not out to taste! WTH?
Is anyone else booked with them? Are you also having problems? I don't know what to do. I'm thinking of cancelling.

Re: Atlantis Marine World - Problems!
Even if you don't stay with Atlantis, your other vendors should move to the new location with you, you shouldn't loose their deposits too. I research for a living, FM me the owners name and I can try and find him for you.

you really should connect with them via twitter, and include a link to this thread in the tweet.
They won't want all their followers seeing how poorly they treat their brides.

Re: Atlantis Marine World - Problems!
Just finished talking to the general manager, Bryan DeLuca. We are stuck with Atlantis. We missed the 6 month deadline. Either we stay with them or we lose over 7K that we paid them already.
I actually cried in the middle of my office talking to this man and all he could say was that they are going to be professional from this point on! How am I supposed to stand there and say my vows in this place! I'm sorry I'm even having a wedding.

I'm sorry to hear about the situation. At this point it seems like you need to either come to terms with having it there or lost your $$, which is an awful thing. I am sorry you have to go through this. When everything is all said and done I would definitely call the Better Business Bureau. Or hey - maybe you can evern get one of those late night news shows to help investigate - something like helping howard I think??

Re: Atlantis Marine World - Problems!
I will file a complaint with the better business bureau and warn any other brides I can not to book with this place. And if you do, don't pay the bill until the last possible minute. Charlatans.

Re: Atlantis Marine World - Problems!
alright, ladies. found an email I sent on 5/11/11 (182 days out from the date of the wedding) looking to cancel. I was deliberately misled to believe that if I cancelled I could not get my $ back unless they re-book the date - DESPITE being within the confines of the 6-month Suffolk County law!!!!! It's on!

Re: Atlantis Marine World - Problems!
i never understood WHY in the world ANY vendor would want to do this to a bride... i mean isnt the point of them to do business, not loose it!!
Customer service has been severely lacking in the bridal industry lately and its really begining to pisssssss me off! Everything from wedding gowns, to flowers, to the effin UPS store.. how do these people friggin stay in business when all they seem to do is piss people off!

They stay in business because when you sign the contract you are locked in. If you pull out, they can keep your money for doing absolutely NOTHING!

Re: Atlantis Marine World - Problems!
FINAL SOLUTION: After talking to a lawyer, even with the email showing that they lied about our ability to cancel, we cannot cancel our wedding now, nor will we get our money back. It is up to us as a consumer to be forewarned.
I am being forced to have my wedding at Atlantis Marine World. They are all ignoring my calls and emails. Great.
Keep yourselves informed, ladies, otherwise you will end up like me...I am paying these people at Atlantis to force me to eat isht!
Thanks to all who tried to help. I'm going to drown my sorrows in ice cream now.

Re: Atlantis Marine World - Problems!
If you are up for it, I would try to contact Help Me Howard and see if maybe he can use some of his tactics to get them to be reasonable with you or get your lawyer to put some pressure on them to work with you.
Here's the info for Help Me Howard in case you want it.
it might still work out okay! Did you see the recent review of the Somerly bride? She said she had problems in the beginning but when they found out she was unhappy (and complained about it here), they changed their tune and started kissing her @ss. She ended up having a really great wedding. You never know. Threatening with bad publicity can get you far.
