I booked my wedding at Atlantis Marine World late last year. We loved the venue, the service, our salesman/maitre'd. However, he has since left and now the service 'ain't so good'. I can't get replies, when I do get replies to questions, they are nasty or seem disinterested; I even had someone argue with me on the phone! I feel completely deflated. The last straw was when I was told I could not taste any of the food I choose for my guests. Apparently, they have bridal showcases, which we went to one, but everything on the menu is not out to taste! WTH?
Is anyone else booked with them? Are you also having problems? I don't know what to do. I'm thinking of cancelling.

thats not good - whoever is taking over the job should be there for you 10000%
i would ask to speak to their supervisor and explain the situation. perhaps there is another person they can have you deal with that will be more responsive

We actually tried that. We were stonewalled! No one wants to listen to us, or even give us the name of his supervisor! They keep telling us he is the top! I know the name of the actual owner, but have no idea how to get in touch with him or if he is even at the aquarium. This is so frustrating! GRRRRRR!!! I don't even want a wedding anymore.

im so sorry to hear that, its just horrible! would you ever consider going there? maybe if you go there and make a big enough scene or demand to talk to someone who is in charge they can't brush you off as easily... i cant blame you for no longer wanting to get married there anymore.
i dont understand the whole no tasting thing, thats just crazy. HOW RUDE!!!

You know, that is not a bad idea. Maybe Hubby and I will take a ride out there (2 hours away). I will talk to him about it. We decided to cancel the whole thing and after faxing and emailing, it's been 2 business days (4 days total since we did it on Saturday) with no response!
Sad part is...we paid in full.

You really canceled? You should get a full refund then, or whatever Suffolk law states (google it, there is definitely a rule that you get back most of it).

Yeah, we should get a refund. You have until 6 months before. But we are not getting any feedback at all. Like we are leppers or something. I'm so angry and disgusted. I'm thinking we might get our money back and just get married on the cruise we booked for the honeymoon. But, we paid for all the services already, lighting, dj, photo/video. This is a mess!

Not sure about your other issues, but MANY venues will not arrange for a food tasting and suggest you attend their bridal showcases to sample food.
I have heard many complaints about Atlantis Marine World- mostly from brides, not from guests, but I don't ever remember hearing anything bad about the food.

Sadly some establishments have poor business practices like this. The only way to get these places attention is to threaten legal action. No one like a lawsuit ... may be the only way to get money back.

I would be fine if they offered all of the food on their menu...listen, don't serve me cheese and crackers and some roasted peppers and tell me this is what you are offering my guests. I want to taste everything. AND we were told there WOULD be a tasting - 6 weeks before the wedding. This is bullisht.

OMG....thats so wrong that they are treating you that way...and the funny part is that you are paying for this...that is so wrong..and they wont let you tast that food..what is that about and they only do that at bridal shows ..never hear of that ....to me its really not worth it ..best of luck to you

FH and I went there in August of last year and Bob was the one who gave us the tour and gave us the package information.
I'm sorry to hear that, I don't know of anyone who is booked there but my little cousin is having her prom there in a few weeks. I will be sure to let you know how the service/food was that evening even though it will obviously be a slighty different ambiance and food.

So here is something i have done SEVERAl times before with compnaies that try to ignore me (not a good idea to ignore me- I just get really mad).
Get a twitter account and post messages on their twitter page. Someone will get back to you asap!
Companies hate when their dirty laundry is put out in front of the world to see. I did this with delta, southwest and ups when I was getting the corporate run around. I got responses within 10 minutes on twitter.
try it-- it can;t hurt. They have a twitter page- i checked.

Thank u all for your advice. I'm completely depressed. Bob Lanieri is actually the one torturing us. He said he is sending us a certified letter and refused to talk to me or my fiancé!!! Said read the letter and let me know what u want to do. Had me on hold over 9 minutes!! I've been crying since I got off work! If I don't get the money back from Atlantis Marine World I can't have a wedding at all!! And we paid all the services already!!!! Lighting, video, photo..everything!! My wedding is ruined!!!!
