Re: ATT: TEACHERS!! help me!!
Although a bit pricey...I love the educational warehouse in Carle Place. I am not too sure what you can fill it with but that is an AWESOME IDEA! I love when my family buys me stuff for my classroom..its the best gift! What a great idea!

What level?
I'd say stickers and fun things like that. Maybe some posters and those long banners. There are good books for new teachers too, like My First Year as a Teacher and The First Days of School by Harry Wong and Educating Esme by Esme Codell.
Post-its are great, and markers.
ETA- there is an LLWeans in Carle Place too, in the same shopping center as David's Bridal.

Im not sure if we are thinking of the same store in farmingdale, but it's in the Jillians shopping center. I think its right next to the liquor store called Stewart's. Im not sure of the name of it.

Re: ATT: TEACHERS!! help me!!
LL Weans is where I usually go, in Farmingdale (airport plaza)
Stuff to get... red pens, borders, a big calendar, stationary, erasers, chalk, sentence strips, books, paperclip holder, etc... if you know what grade the Mailbox Superbooks are great!

Get her an E-Z Grader. It's my favorite.

Re: ATT: TEACHERS!! help me!!
what subject area is she?? that makes a huge difference!!!
I teach high school and elem school (im art certified k-12) anyway, at the hs I had to buy for myself flat baskets that i could put in my desk drawer to organize... other than that, most things like office supplies were provided to me... I love getting books for my classroom though!! I have a few childrens books that i read to my HS kids every now and then... they love them...

If she is teaching the lower grades, try Lakeshore. It is New Hyde Park and it is wonderful! I also like LL Weans -- I'm pretty sure they have gift certificates.

It depends on her grade level, but stickers and other rewards are good. If she is in elementary, maybe some blank awards/certificates. You could pick out cool borders for her bulletin boards. Maybe put everything in a monogrammed teacher's bag?

g/c to the teachers store. holiday decorations, chart paper, laminating or contact paper, lots of sharpies, broad, fine, black and color, transparencies, sheet protectors, chalk holder, the long staple remover, the list could go on!

Re: ATT: TEACHERS!! help me!!
I ususally go to Island school and Art Supply.. that is more in Suffolk County-I am not sure where you're located!
I would include:
General: -Ez grader -notepads (need those) -stickers -incentive charts -notes home (carbon copied) -plan book (they have really nice ones) -pens, pencils, -little men magnets -chart paper
Good luck, hope this was helpful!

Re: ATT: TEACHERS!! help me!!
I would say - get her a gift cert to one of those stores - so when she gets a teaching job - she can buy specific things that she needs!
