Those of you who have done your cake with Dortonis. How was the price difference?? Did you find it to be a big balance for the outside of the cake being fondant?? Havent heard back from JT or the bakery and just wanna know what to expect. TIA

I'm not sure if I understand your question....are you asking how much extra it is for fondant? For some reason, I feel like it was $800 but I could be wrong. We arent doing fondant bc I dont like the taste and bc we are having a V-hour anyway. I have an appt to go there on Tues, I can ask my BM for you then if you want.

I took a trip to Dortoni Bakery with my fiance and spoke to a young woman named Candice. She said it would be $75 extra for rolled chocolate fondant (I hate whipped cream and butter cream with a PASSION). However, when we sat with Linda to go over our menu selections, she told me it would be an extra $350. We're going to go back to Dortoni's and tell them what Linda said and see what they say. Either way, I'll be spending the extra money for the fondant because whipped cream and butter cream just don't do it for me. Also, because our colors are red and white, we're doing red velvet cake instead of vanilla or chocolate. I don't recall how much extra that was off hand. But that's the way I wanted it. Good luck

I dont mind paying an extra 300 for the fondant. I just wanna make sure it's not gonna be a crazy amount like 800 or 1200. I'll do the buttercream them. The inside whats the important part lol. We're doing red velvet with cream cheese filling and nutella. That was included in plan.. Thanks girls. Keep me posted

My BM told me if I emailed him a pic of the cake I wanted, he could give an exact price quote for the fondant based on the size and design. If you want a simpler cake, why not email your BM a pic and see what he says? It cant hurt to ask. It might not be that much.

Oh that cake is so beautiful! Ask how much it would be for a regular fondant cake like this with no design, and add your own snowflakes!

I don't have experience with Dortoni's but we just picked our cake...I knew it was going to be an upcharge and our baker basically said 'what are you looking to spend' and then let me know when I chose a cake that was over budget.
We ended up with a beautiful cake right where we wanted to be...this cake will be ~$650.

Yes they are included but if you want a custom cake with more fondant than what is normally put on or extra embelishments, a more difficult design they will upcharge you.
