ATTENTION MTA RIDERS

They voted today to increase the fares and tolls. Subway will go from 2 to 2.50 a ride, monthly from 81 to 103. And all the LIRR fares are going up as well.

I just heard. Great, an extra dollar a day to not get a seat on the E train AND to hold a pole where other people's hands slip and touch mine.

ugh that *****. i don't work in the city anymore but between the LIRR and subway it used to cost me enough already, i could only imagine now what its going to cost!

Its ridiculous, my monthly cost for travel may be going up $70 between the subway and LIRR.

Hey, we have a budget shortfall. Brilliant idea, lets charge more and reduce service so there are less trains to accommodate people, that will clear up our shortfall...

Yeah, and it could decrease your ridership because people cant afford to take the train or bus to work anymore, so they find local jobs rather than going into or out of the city, so you wind up with an even BIGGER budget shortfall.

Charge more and reduce service. Its like, you are charging us almost as much as it would cost for a parking space in the city, can't they at least give us something to show for the increased cost, other than another report that people are getting benefits they shouldn't and the head of the MTA gets a bigger bonus?

this also means toll roads will go up toooooo

$5 bridges will now be $6! That is $40 more a month...not counting gas and wear and tear too....boooooooooo

and this is why i don't work in the city anymore....from new haven a monthly was costing me over $300 a month! then i needed a monthly subway on top of that.

this is sooo messed up......like they don't have enough money......anyone who takes ronkonkoma monthly ticket will go from 278 to 352 (i think).....i can not afford that!

ugh and thats a freckin long train ride. Metro - North is insane this is why I dont take the train on the weekends up to CT anymore.

They have actually INCREASED ridership on MTA and LIRR. Yet they have to raise the fee AGAIN. I dont travel much into the city but still I feel for all you girls that travel into the city on a daily.

They just rob us all the time. How...how, how...can they justify this raise? Service is terrible, there are always delays. Another raise...especially when they always find a surplus? They are crooks!
