I think I've posted this before, but now there are more Scotto Brothers brides here recently. I'm just wondering if any of you will be or have used Distinctive Designs, the Scotto Bros. IN house florist? I have an appointment with Dawn at the Fox Hollow next week. Just wondering if any one else is using them! Thanks!
Hey Octbride--I'm not planning to use them--although I heard good things about them I also heard they were pretty expensive when compared to outside florists..so it wasn't in my budget. I think you should check them & see if you like them & if they are in your budget... You can also do a search b/c i'm sure other scotto bro. brides have used them
I'm getting married at Chateau Briand, and when I met with my local florist, she told me that Scotto Brothers requires you to use the house florist for the reception flowers. I met with the CB house florist and he was great. I was afraid he would gauge me on the price, but he was extremely flexible and had no problem working within my budget.
Quick quest. by house florist you mean in house? I was given a list of other house florists including their inhouse Distinctive Designs. I was never told I had to use any of them.... I was just told they are suggestions.
I'm glad to hear you liked them though! Are you going with them? If so, what do you feel about the fact that they don't deliver? Meaning someone is going to have to go pick them up at CB that day and bring the personals to you and FH.
I used them, I paid $35 for my centerpieces, they did a great job. The table at Chateau were long and narrow so they knew exactly what I wanted. I had seen an example at there showcase last year. They made me up a sample which was great so I could get an idea of what it would look like. Ive met the Florist Chris who works at C.B. what a nice guy, Joe is the one who helped me design it at Fox Hollow but is no longer there. They will prob. be at the showcase next week. Also you get $10 off each Centerpiece since you are a Scotto Bride =)
I spoke with Chris at CB and he told me what he would do for the centerpieces. I didn't want tall centerpieces, so he said he'd do white and peach roses with blue hydrangea and they'll cost about $45 each. I don't know how our tables will be set up though. We have the Leonardo da Vinci room (although I keep calling it the Leonardo Dicaprio room ) and we're expecting 250 people.
Thanks ladies! Why is it SOOO cheap for centerpieces?? I was quoted by another florist OVER $100 for centerpieces!!! That makes me nervous! Anyway, my tables are also long and narrow. I'm thinking they are probably the best to work with considering they'll know what fits and looks good, etc!
PS - I can't believe Joe is not there anymore! He seemed so great to work with too!
Wow! THat does sound really cheap! I'll definitely have to look in to them now. I thought they would have been expensive. They don't deliver though? Can you have another florist do just the personal flowers?
I told Chris that I didn't want to spend over $50 for centerpieces, and he told me he could still do somthing nice with roses for that amount. I am using another florist for the personal flowers, and he was okay with that.
