My cousin just graduated college with her BA in Special education/Spanish (1-6). As a fellow teacher, I'm making her a basket of essential teacher items.
So far I got: - Spanish Elementary workbooks - Flash cards (Spanish Level 1) - 'Good Job' stamp - Grade calculator - homework passes - paper clips
I also plan on getting what I think is one of the most essential items- Post it notes!
I teach secondary, so I'm not sure if I'm missing anything partial to the lower grades.
What are your essential teaching items?
TIA!

Stapler, butterfly clips, pens/pencils, and maybe something personalized w/ her name (ms. _____). My aunt had gotten me something personalized to hang on my door and I loved it!

treats! if she's doing grades 1-3, she will need 'treats', i.e., little bracelets for the girls, toy cars/trucks for the boys, magnets, pencils, etc. These can come from the dollar section at Toys R'Us!
A cookie jar to keep goodies in on her desk for the well behaved.

ooh yea definitely treats... forgot about that... my kids this past year were in love with lead pencils and funky pens... they would kill each other for a lead pencil

That's really sweet of you! I would get a TON of different stickers! Also, a cute photo frame, FH always seems to have a different one on each of his desks!

Thank you!! I would have never thought of a bunch of these. I totally raided the dollar store and got some more things!
