August 29th at Chateau Briand. It's going pretty well, but the DJ situation needs to be decided on. Next I'm doing hair and makeup trials, and we'll be printing up the Save the Date cards probably this weekend or so. Yay!

August 28! at the Watermill, in my hometown.
My mommy was taking care of so much for me since I've gotten engaged, and it's been great. A lot got done.
She recently found out that she has breast cancer (early stages, thank God), but here i am now, doing the rest by myself while she takes care of her body.
I still need: a florist (I have one in mind) a DJ (wanted a band, but too xpensive for my budget) a make-up and hair stylist, and a limo.
any reccomendations?

Ladies, it sounds like you are all doing well. As for save the date, I'm not sure if I want to do magnets or cards. I saw some real cute cards with the couples picture on them but I do like the magnet idea because its on your frig and you cant forget.

I am sorry to hear about your mom. You will do fine. Have your maid of honor help you out. Your mom can still make final decisions with you. And theres always the intenet that you can search on together. i will keep your mom in my prayers. As for flowers check out Burtons..I love them Make-up and hair ,I have no clue that is one thing I need to decide on.

Joey, I'm sorry about your mom, and I'll keep you guys in my prayers. Another woman who I'm very close with was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in the early stages Sept. 2002, and now she's fully recovered! In fact, she's already been in remission for a year. So depending on her prognosis, this could go away very easily.
We're actually Making our save the dates, because it was someplace we could be more economical. I bought cards, envelopes, stamps, and ink pads from a stationary store. I'll scan one when they're done so you can see.

August brides,are you concerned about the weather being to hot? I have my concerns but my reception is late at night so the cocktail hour wont be that bad outside. In the begining I did have my concerns, my mother thinks it's silly to have an August wedding because of the weather.

Hello girls. I am 8.29 at Oceanside Jewish Center. I am also looking for Florist and DJ. As far as hair, I would look into Kim at J & Company.
I am sorry to hear about your mom. Breast Cancer is definitely scary, but it was one of the most treatable cancers- especially in LI.

I'm not too worried bc you never know...My cousin got married a couple years ago on august 10th and it was like 80 degrees. Weather is one thing you cant control during any month...so, all we can do is pray
