I have been calling hotels to reserve a block of rooms and the Hilton just told me that is the same weekend there is a huge Long Island soccer tornement!! I don't know what to do!!! I need a hotel in the western suffolk area!!! Please help!!

GoingNutty is getting married at the same place as you and she just posted about a bunch of places that are close to CLM i believe... her post is on 05 b/w yesterday and today i believe....
suezboss is getting married that day too, and we went to a couple of places in Woodbury and they were already booked also (and that was back in January!!), but she had already blocked some somewhere else... i wonder if its all related to the soccer thing?

I know some girls were talking about a new hotel opening up in Eastern Nassau. I'm sorry but I don't remember the name.
Did you try the Melville Mariott? What about Smithtown Sheraton.. it's off the expressway?

i'm getting married on the 5th and we reserved our rooms in September. there is a tournament--score at the shore and the hotels only released a small # of rooms to block.
the inn at plainview had some--it's a sheraton and is newly renovated. the people there have been helpful. i'm not sure where your hall is located so i don't know where else to suggest. sorry.

What area are you getting married at. I just booked the holiday inn for aug12 to 15 weekend. They said that the were booking fast to.

best western is already booked that weekend... and i *think* inn @ fox hollow is, but i'm not 100% on that one... those are only suites though, so it depends on how much $$$ the guests can afford to spend

Ok, my FI and I called about 10 different hotels, and everything was booked, so we finally called the Inn at Plainview, and we were able to book a block of rooms!!! Thank you all so much for your help!!

Right when I read this I was like, OMG, THATS why our 2nd hotel was alread booked!
I blocked off rooms at FHI over the Summer, but waited on the other hotel down the block until Januray, and got the same thing 'ALL BOOKED UP!' and they called the hotel down the block, and they were booked too!!!
looks like a lot of my guests will be sharing rooms

Hello, We booked rooms at the Hilton Garden Inn.we were told about the soccer tournament as well. The hotel said that if the rooms were not booked by my guests a month before the wedding, they were going back into the mix for others. You can try asking the hotels if they have a waiting list or something. What about Nassau?? IS that too far from you? I wish you lots of luck If I hear of anything, I will send you a FM

I called the Inn at Plainview, soon to be Four Point by Sheraton. They still have rooms available for that weekend. I spoke to Michael and he told me that the tournament is not going to be as big as they are saying. HE has decided not to partake in putting aside rooms for the tournament, leaving more rooms for bridal blocks.
They are a vendor on the site...check them out...Thanks NUTTY!!!!!
