August brides:: where are you going for your HM>??

FH and I are torn.. At first we had wanted a 9-03 wedding, in which case we had planned on going to Italy for our HM but now that our date is 8-9-03 we have been told by so many people that it is ridiculously hot and packed in August..

Now we don't know where/what to do..

We're more of the adventureous type.. need options..

We really don't want to go to Hawaii..

I am in the SAME boat babe. Some girls have recommended Costa Rica, Belize and Spain. Just some thoughts

WOW, you guys are lucky to pick some great places, my date is 8/31/03, and the only thing that is definitly a done-deal is our HM.. FH is not the adventerous type at all, he wants to do a cruise to Mexico... (i asked him if this was a high school trip

.. but since I get to make (almost) all of the other decisions, i figured I had to give him this one!

we were talking with our travel agent/friend and she also said that many couples are now splitting their hm's (being that usually they take 14 days for hm) and asked if we wanted to go to one place for one week and then go somewhere else.. we might be doing that..

but to be honest, at this point I don't give a hoot.. i'll go ANYWHERE! lol

I went to Spain in August...and while the interior is supposed to be hot (100 degrees) it wasn't...freak of nature...

but we went to the Spanish Balleric isalnds (Menorca) and it was PERFECT weather..

We are getting married 8/31 and we are probably splitting out time (2 1/2 weeks) between Spain (Mallorca) and the Amalfi Coast in Italy. We're also considering Spain & Portugal.
We've been to Italy in August and I definitely agree -- its a zoo. Rome and Florence were crowded, but Venice was absolute madness. It was so crowded (all with English speaking people, mind you), it just took the romance out of it. Still, most of the worthwhile places are crowded in the summer, and Italy is a wonderful choice.

Oh, by the way, someone recommended Costa Rica -- I heard August is the rainy season there, so I'd check it out first.

We were married in August. We went to Grand Cayman for a week and to Disney World for a week. It was perfect weather in both places. Wasn't too hot in the Caymans at all. And Disney was not crowded at all!
