I'm thinking about hitting these two places for my honeymoon... wondering if anybody has gone/is going to either or both...
Any comments/suggestions??

Re: Australia and/or Fiji?
I have been to Australia. It was absolutely beautiful. We spent time in Sydney, up on the Gold Coast and in Tasmania. The people are Wonderful, the food was great, it was just a great experience.
It really depends on how you want to spend your HM, if you don't mind lots of sightseeing and walking-and you have plenty of time-then it would be good. The flight over there & back is h*ll. That is why I said that about the traveling. I can't imagine spending that much time on a plane after the big day. I wouldn't go over there unless you can spend at least 2 weeks-otherwise it is not worth it-it is a long trip.
There is a girl on the 06 board who lives in Australia-try posting this there-maybe she will see it and give you more detailed info!

Re: Australia and/or Fiji?
i spent a semester abroad in sydney, and travelled a bit in australia while i was there. it is a gorgeous place to visit but you do need a good 2-3 weeks to see it, and adjust to the time change. not to mention the 24 hours it takes to get there... but, for a romantic, beachy area, check out the whitsunday islands. they are near the great barrier reef, and absolutely amazing.
on my way home, i went to fiji, and stayed on an island resort. fiji is beautiful, but it is a 3rd world country, so the mainland is very rundown, much like some of the caribbean islands. if you do go to fiji, you want to be sure to stay on a resort island and not on the mainland.
fm me if you would like more info on either place... i was there in the fall of 1999

I also lived in Australia and if you have at least two weeks to spend there, I would highly recommend it. I know December and January are their summer months. I can't remember what the weather was like in March/April.

i think this may be me. sorry i just saw this post. i lived there from february to december 2005. i will be going to live there for another 2-3 years after the wedding, b/c FH is aussie, then back to NY. i am in NY at the moment to plan the wedding and waiting for my visa to pass. australian immigration is a toughie...
anyway it really is a beautiful place! you need at least 2 weeks, b/c the flight is a rough one and time to get used to the jet lag. when i came home i was jetlagged for weeks. i have to admit i did not do much travelling when i was there b/c i did my masters. but i can reccommend sydney! i went to great barrier reef (Cairns) and it is so beautiful up there, i highly suggest it. Cairns is on mud flats, so no beaches, but we did that b/c it was cheaper accomadation. port douglas would be a good place for a honeymoon, and the reefs are better there for snokelling. there is also a rainforest near the area. oh and crocodile tours. blue mountains and shoal bay are nice as well.
their seasons are reversed and i am not sure what time you are looking to go, but march/april is a comfy time to go to sydney. october/ november is nice as well. the summers are so hot and FH said it was 107 for new years. the winters arent really that bad at all, like maybe 2 weeks of coldness, but not cold like here. it hardly rains in sydney, in fact most of the country is in drought.
if you have any specific questions please FM me!

Re: Australia and/or Fiji?
We did Fiji and loved it - we wish we had had more time, then we def. would have done New Zealand & Australia as well.
Here's the link to the resort at which we stayed for the majority of the HM: www.qamea.com
