Autumn pm brides- what time is your ceremony/reception?

Autumn pm brides- what time is your ceremony/reception?

I have to schedule times for my ceremony (about a 7 minute drive from here to venue) and my cocktail hour. The wedding is in Nov. and the clocks go back the week before. What time do you make the church for if you want to have some daylight pics, but a nighttime wedding? ( biggest dilemma with it is that we have a large majority of OOT guests and no where to put them if we schedule the times for say 3pm and 6pm).

My ceremony is at two and my CH is at 7:30. We luck out and get the extra hour of daylight savings -- we turn the clocks back the night of our wedding.

I would do 2 and 6 -- your OOT guests can go back to the hotel -- that is what mine are doing.

My ceremony is at 3 and the cocktail hour starts at 6. I think the sun just starts to set at 5:30, which allows enpugh sunlight for outdoor pictures..

Just in case you don't know...you can check out the forecast for weather and the time of the projected sunset for your day...

By the way ...for out of town guests..speak with your banquest manager at your reception site and ask how early they will accomodate guests coming before the scheduled cocktail hour. Some places will do it as early as hour before. You have to remember your ceremony could be up to an hour -- allow for some traffic too even if it is seven minutes away. By the time everyone gets situated at a pre-cocktail hour venue, it will be time for the actual cocktail hour. I wouldn't worry -- we have people coming from London, Canada and Sicily and they all want to eat!!

Re: Autumn pm brides- what time is your ceremony/reception?

we had a November wedding last year (Nov 17th) and unfortunately the sun set at 4:35 so it was pretty much dark by the time we got to the RH and we took our pictures inside the Woodlands.

We had a full mass which started at 3:00. So if you're only having a ceremony, you're probably fine to start at 3:00, but if you want more time for pics you may have to move it up to 2:00 and try to have your CH at 6:00. Ours started at 7:00 and we had a lot of OOT guests, but they just either went back to their hotel in between or, in the case of my college friends, they went to a local bar.

Did you think about taking photos before? We are doing that so we could attend cocktail hour and beat the raise for the sunset...our ceremony is at 4pm

Our cocktail hour is at 4:30...we are doing everything at the hall...we are going to take pics at hall at 1pm...every photographer we went to see recommended seeing each other before....I didn't want to at first but it all made sense...I want to try and enjoy as much of the day as possible

I looked on the farmers almanac and army website and it says sunset is at 6:38 so i am getting married at 5pm when the light is out and then taking pictures from 5:30 (sunset)-6:00 .. my ch starts at 5:30 - receptions ends at 10:30pm ....then off to the bar

My ceremony is at 3:30pm
Cocktail hour starts at 7:30pm

we will only have a few mins of daylight left when we get out of the ceremony so we'll get as many in at the church as possible. then the rest will be taken in the dark at the RH.
I've seen outside pics in the dark and they come out beautiful. So i'm not too worried about it
