im glad to see that im not the only one that i thought the average would be around 45-50
---- it all depends on what you want... you can cut your costs a lot by having lets say fri night wedding or sunday afternoon rather than saturday... low centerpieces vs high ones...
DIY invitations, rather than ordering them.

can someone please agree with me, that it all depends on what you want.. THanks :)

(im starting to feel bad about all the money)

it also depends alot on how many guests you have. I can have the exact type of wedding as another girl, lets say same RH, same vendors, same decor and etc. Now if she has 150 guests and i have 300, then it will be a HUGE difference.

I am having 300 guests at my wedding so im screwed lol

Re: Average cost of wedding

I am stressing about how much my wedding is costing me and it isnt at the average yet. For 150 people we are spending about 26,000 w/o honeymoon.

Even though I am lower than the average....I still feel stressed! It's hard when paying completly yourself! Plus that would be a nice chunck of cash for a down payment on a house!

i think its the same either way...if you have less guests you pay less so you'll still have the same chances...but i have seen that most couples dont make the money back, definitely not for the whole wedding maybe for the RH but thats about it and most dont even make back the rh money. Im just going in with no expectations.

Does the $38K include honeymoon? Cuz that would make a big different for us!

I agree that I thought it would be close to 50k. Prices of things are really out of control esp if you can't cut your guest list which is my current problem

That seems low to me. I wish I was spending that.

Sounds about right. I was hoping to come in at no more than $30K with HM expenses. So far so good.

Re: Average cost of wedding

I must be lucky because I spent about 10k less, which was still a lot. Lucky me

I think it really depends on the vendors and extras you book. We got married on a Saturday night in July at the Fox Hollow with 135 people present. We had high centerpieces, an amazing DJ, hair and make up artisit, and photographer, and invites professionally done. It's all about looking for a good price and cutting down the guest list. I figured it out and each additional person would cost us a pretty penny so I wanted to stay as close as possible to our minimum as possible. Luckily we were only 5 people over and those 5 were kids at a reduced rate. If you want plasma screens, a slide show, etc the costs add up quickly.
