Average Price for a wedding band...? (music, not rings)

My fiance and I are starting to look into bands (music, not rings). We are wondering what is the average price is of a band?? We just need something to go by....

thats what we were quoted. I believe after hours might be a little less expensive... try them. A lot of girls on here are booked with them and rave about them....

one of the house bands for the woodlands called me and i asked just to get an idea and she said 6900 for a fri in dec

we have an 11 piece band for 4500 (got a deal-fh knows them) but i think they normally chard 5500-6000 and theyre pretty friggin awesome!

It can totally range depending on the band, day of your event, and number of musicians. We looked at bands with10 - 12 musicians for a Saturday night and the estimates were between $11,000 - $15,000.

We're paying $9k for a band we LOVED. Good music is really important to us.

we paid $4950 for a 9 pc band on a Sat night in Aug - they were AMMMMMMMMMMMMAZING! FM me if you want more details..........

eta: i've heard rule of thumb is $1k per piece

You will get a better price if you are able to deal directly with a band leader.
Alot of the agencies that rep multiple bands are more expensive because there is an agency commision built into the fee.
Just because a band charges more money doesnt mean they are the best.
I think a great band can be found between 6-7K.
