Average price of luggage.... w/ link to pic! Diane Von Furstenberg

So ladies!!
What is the average price of luggage? I'm looking for a carry on... Large suit case and a medium sized suit case. OR maybe a medium and smaller one along with a carry on?? IDK yet!!

I went to do my registry yesterday... and we didn't get too far with it... BUT I found this luggage set that I fell in love with!!!

FH says it's not practical... and he might be right... but I'm not always practical... sometimes I prefer the cuter things in life!!!! It's a Diane Von Furstenburg set and it's gray suede and silver. I just LOVED it!!! I couldn't stop staring at it. We didn't register for luggage... but we are DEF going to be registering for luggage!

I just don't know how much luggage typically runs for and the set seems a bit on the pricey side. But it's soooooooooo pretty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm going to search for pics!!!

Eeek!! Now that I found it online I can't stop STARING at it!!!! Hahaha!!!

Ive seen higher end luggage sets starting at $400 from lower end sets that go on sale that can go for $100. So i guess it just depends on the designer and material.

ETA: love that set!!!

OR I don't know if it's smarter to do the 28' for $400.... or the 21' for $320???

I don't know what pieces to get.

I love this set! The price is actually pretty average.

However, be careful. I had such a pretty pink suede set that I used once. It came off the plane filthy and was all scratched up and ripped the first time I used it. I'm still sad over that set and it was like 15 years ago.................

it's pretty average prices..it's your set of luggage forever...

i registered and got mine and it's nice to know it won't fall apart..

You definitely need two large pieces one for yourself and FH. Then probably a smaller piece for smaller things.

That's why FH said it's not practical! I'm trying to see if it's waterproof. BUT on the other hand it's DVF so it has to be made good and it has a 10 year warrenty.

I think the luggage I picked was priced around the same but it is always on sale for much cheaper.
I don't think that luggage is impractical, but it probably will come off the plane from your honeymoon not looking that great.
I also recommend staying away from the largest size suitcases (usually 29 inches). With the airlines being so stringent about luggage weight now a days, it's so easy to have heavy luggage. The larger cases are heavy to begin with and then because they are so big, what you usually wind up putting in them puts them over weight. Just a thought.

I was thinking that myself!! I figured the smaller the luggage the less chance I will overpack!! haha!! I also just found out there might be REALLY severe rules on the luggage and weight of the luggage we bring on the HM. SO Now i'm a little freaked out!!

OK so the largest size is def out (I kinda felt it wouldn't make it to the registry). So then the 21 inch or the 25 inch?

I'm going to see what I can dig up for reviews of this luggage. The suede factor is what scares me!! It might also be what I love about it too!!!

The warranty will cover workmanship (like a zipper or wheel) but not rips in the suede due to 'wear and tear.'

For some reason, I have had lots of luggage in my lifetime. I love the 29 inch piece for a long trip, but for a week long trip to say California or Florida, it's impractical. Luckily since you're going to Bora Bora for your HM, there is a higher weight limit on the airlines most times (check to see if this it true with whatever airline you're flying).

FH and I registered for the Delsey Helium set. It's so lightweight, which definitely helps.

I'd say get the 25 inch. Maybe two of them (one for you one for FH). I think the largest we got was 24 inch.
Our HM is international so we won't wind up paying for luggage, so we each plan on bring two suitcases (the limit) even if they aren't full so that we can bring stuff back with us.

Oh I love DVF luggages

I wouldnt get the totes kind though, because some airlines make you check those kinds of bags.. that happened to me before even though it was def carry on size.. get the carry on upright size.
