I'm looking to book a DJ for my wedding next year and I'm a little limited because I need Greek, Italian, Jewish and of course, American Music. Any recommendations? What kind of prices am I looking at? I've heard anywhere between $1000 and $5000! All input would be greatly appreciated.

My DJ might be able to help you...FM Entertainment. For a one man DJ/MC combo I paid $895 (I didn't get any sort of lighting package or plasma TVs or anything extra like that)

We got the photo montage package from FM entertainment.. Two man team, one DJ, one MC. Club lighting and two plasmas screens, with photo montage, name in lights etc
This was all prob seen as unnessescary to some, but its what FH and I wanted. He is a musican and music is super important him.
We paid 2,500
It all depends what you want. FM has great prices for just the one or two man team and their basic package includes alot. You can also add stuff ala carte. I'd def go see them!!
I left out that ours includes ceremony music and cocktail hour music...sorry :)

U r using after hours right? what lighting are you getting? Just dance floor lighting or another kind of lighting?

we are paying 3100 for body rock.. for a dj and mc, lighting, pinlighting, monogram on dancefloor and walls, and a live percussionist.

We are using After Hours and they have all of those types of music because you need to check off all of the ethnic music you want played on some of the forms that I'm working on currently.
We are paying $1000 for a 2 man dj/mc package No ceremony/cocktail hour music because we didn't need it. No plasmas or special lighting.
Recently we inquired about adding some light effects and he said $100 extra anytime which we will probably do as well.

It really depends on extras- esp. LIGHTING and LIVE MUSICIANS. If you just do basic DJ or DJ/MC, most Djs will be around 1k-2k. Add on lighting, figure another 500-1k. Add on live musicians another 1-2k (depends on the number).

I am using After Hours. I have a 2 man team with a basic lighting show. I also got a steel drum player for the cocktail hour and i'm paying $1900 for everything. Phil threw in the music for the ceremony. I think I got a pretty deal and phil was great to work with
