Awww

My 5th grade teacher, who was my favorite ever, the first teacher who made me realize I was smart, just asked me about my wedding on Facebook.

I LOVE Facebook for things like that!

I did tell her. She actually posted that so many of her FB friends are former students, it would be nice to hear what non academic lessons have been remembered over the years. So I told her then. I'd been looking for her for a little while, I wanted to tell her IW ound up going to law school and it was largely because of the confidence I gained in her class.

Mrs Kohler I looooooved her.

ETA: I went to Ridge

I always felt like a dumb kid cause..I dunno, I always got good grades, but I used to call out a lot and I used to get in trouble for that as a kid and I never really got any encouragement. And then in 5th grade, she used to tell me how smart I was and how well I did on things and if something wasn't up to par she'd tell me she knew I could do better, that she knew I didn't put effort into it because she knows what I'm capable of. So I had incentive to try cause someone was paying attention, you know? I never ever forgot that. 17 years later, I'm graduating from law school.
