I don't think so. I mean, some people get rings for under 1k...it all depends on the ring. FH's ring was a lot for a men's ring, but we didn't even look at prices.....we figured we are wearing them for life so we HAVE to LOVE them!

If it makes you feel any better, when I was hesitating about the cost of my ring, DH took the amount of the ring and divided it by the number of years I plan to wear it. When you look at it that way, it doesnt seem that bad!

I don't think it's a lot...its whatever he likes, right? And its forever.
My FH on the other hand, got his band for $80.... sigh. whatever he wanted!

We just saw our finished rings today and FH is excited to wear his too! We have another payment or so before we pick them up. FH wants to delay it so they stay at the store for safe keeping!
