B-list question for bridal shower

So FMIL finally gave us her guest list which we were supposed to have 3 weeks ago. She couldn't cut her list down to the 75 we allotted her because shes a pain in my a$$ so shes having 20 people on a B-list. How does it work with inviting the 10 women to the bridal shower since they might not get invited to the wedding??? Honestly I think shes doing this on purpose just to make my life a living hell!!!!!

I don't think you can invite people to the shower who will not be invited to the wedding - which means you'll either have to move them to the A-list for the wedding if they're invited to the shower or cut them from the shower list....

How annoying!

But then when they get the invite is it kind of obvious they were on the blist since they didn't go to the shower???

as i understand it, if you are invited to the shower you are invited to the wedding. however, i have been invited to weddings but not showers.

i do not see a problem with a B-List for a shower. just make sure who ever is invited to the shower is invited to the wedding.

Definitely not - our guest list is 250+ people and they are certainly not all invited to the shower. The shower can be limited to closer friends and family and the wedding is a much larger guest list - at least that's the way we've always done it in my family. I've certainly been invited to friends weddings before and not to the shower.

I know I haven't been invited to some showers as friends, but some of the people on her b-list for the wedding are cousins (she has some on the a-list and some on the b-list) so I was just worried they might talk and then it would be awkward. Thanks for the help ladies!!!
