Right away we are going to start trying to have a baby FH and I both want a family ASAP we talk about it alot.

How long is everyone planning on waiting to have children after married?

To late!!! I got pregnant the night we got engaged!! We were supposed to get married last Sept but we put it off until after the baby was born. So we have a beautiful baby boy who is 13 months old. He'll be 18 months when we have our wedding and he's going to be our Ringbearer!! As for another baby we'd like to wait until our son is 2 or 2 1/2 before trying again.

Although it seems everyone (my friends) have their own opinions about waiting a while, we can't wait to have kids. Its funny cause we've talked about babies at length..picked names, talked about everything you can imagine!! Although i think we'll wait a year, who knows? If it were to happen earlier we wouldn't mind :)

We're starting on our wedding night!

All I ever wanted was a family, my FH has a 12 year old son already, which has been so great having an 'instant family' but we do want our own kids.

Soon our 12 year old will be in college and we'll be at home w/ 2 or 3 little ones!!!!

I am 30 and FH is 33. We are going to wait at least 1 1/2 years before. I want to try to finish my degree first. And we have a cross country trip we are taking next Spring and we can't do that with a newborn.

Me too!! But financially we need some time (since I want to be a stay at home mom) and my brother's wedding is June 2006 and i am a bridesmaid. Planning my own wedding now, I would never force anyone to deal with a pregnant bridesmaid!!

I'm 26 now and said I don't even want to talk about it until I'm at least 30.

Logistically, I still have 2 more years in my masters and then 3000 hours before I'm licensed. I'd like to be licensed before I get pregnant so I can set up my own practice from home and do that when we have kids.

Of course, who knows what can happen between now and then but that's my 'plan'.

LOL...I got pregnant the night we got engaged also...our son will turn a yr old a few weeks before our wedding....he is going to be the little best man...since my nephew was already the ring bearer.

I'm with you ladies, not the night we got engaged but pretty soon after! We put off our wedding a year as well. Our daughter will be 16 months when we get married!

Well, right now we have two dogs we call our kids!! But seriously, we want real kids prob in a year or so - maybe less...who knows?? I want 5 so I better start soon!!!

I am SOOOOOO not ready...I went to law school for 3 years and worked my A** off...so I want to get some good work in and then think about going part time or working from home part-time eventually....

We are going to start trying to have kids after the wedding. Cause my fh is 31 so got to start soon lol. but i can't wait to have a baby i just want to have that feeling of being prego and to be able to hold something that you made close to you.

Same here. Maybe 7 years from when we get married? I still feel like a kid half the time, so I'm definitely not ready! I'm not going to stay home but I'd like to be at a point in my career where I'm more in control of my schedule than I am now.

I really want to enjoy being married, enjoy my husband, finish school, travel, and get to a good place financially before kids. Everything changes when they come!

We want them so badly, but really don't see the need to rush into it. I am only 25, we have time.

i am going to turn 30 two months after we get married, so in an ideal world we'd start trying right away. but we will both be medical residents with horrible schedules and not much money for the first 2 years. so our plan is to start trying in two and a half years, so we will have the baby when our schedules are considerably lighter...

plus, i'd like to fit in a few more nice vacations before the munchkins

We just need to finish the house and save a litte more. But ,we are young (Im 22 and FH is soon to be 24). So we figure when Im about 24/25 we will be ready. 2-3 years at the least!
