Baby CPR

Did anyone take this class or is planning to do so? My hospital offers this class, and I plan to take it.

Re: Baby CPR

I definitely think CPR is something that every person (especially people with children) should know. I was a lifeguard for 4 years and my husband is a boat captain so we have both been certified but I told my parents that I think they should take a class.

When I was a baby my parents told me that I tried to eat a rock and I started choking and turning blue and my dad had to stick his fingers down my throat to get it out. I was lucky that he was able to get it out and that he didn't do any damage to my throat. He said it was the scariest moment of his life.

I called my local fire dept and they are sending us info when the next class schedule comes out. I think learning basic baby/child safety care is really important.

My husband is certified. I don't even know how to do adult CPR So I am really glad that this class is being offered.

Definitely! Vinnie & I AND my Mom & sister will go. The Northshore/LIJ system offers these classes onsite for a nominal fee. I'm also considering asking our babysitter if she'll go for training as well. It's very impt!

The hospital also gives classes in baby safety & first aid among lots of other things! I think its open to anyone .... if anyone would like info ... please let me know!!

I have to be CPR/AED trained for coaching, and they go over CPR for infants.
